The following wheels came on my car when it arrived from Arizona. I am trying to identify them. The dust cover says American Racing. There is NO name on the wheel any place. They are 15 x 7.
Does anyone recognize these wheels? Are they American Racing? If so, can you give me the name or the series?
Thanks
John

that could just be an ARE center cap. Alot of those spinners and caps are universal.
I think ARE was cast/stamped into the rim itself. I think by law, rim manufacturers must put identification codes on rims for safety recalls. My Torq-Thrust rims have tons of information which to me is just jibberish, but to the manufacturer is like a fingerprint for that particular rim. I would give American Racing a call to see if they can tell you what exactly it is you have.
bent blades maybe ??/. they were a fairly popular style any rim an tire shop will have them in a catalogue or on line . I think they were intro duced in the disco 70,s ..77.

Thanks Randy. I have them, don't really like them, but I sure don't see them on any cars today. If they were offered in the 70's then I will use them on my 77 Maverick. Something different.
I think they were introduced in the 80's and are American Racing. I saw them in an American racing Ad in a 1988 Carcraft, and I have them in an old catalogue from 92'.

Thank you Rick
I appreciate your help.
I just received an email back from American Racing Wheels and Yes, they were introduced in the mid 80's and discontinued in the mid 90's.
They were called AR-08- that is what the "wheel man" at American Racing tells me.
Still not sure if I will use them, but if I do, I will tell they were from the 70's and only you and I will know the real truth.
