I wonder the same thing Kurt!!  biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

The sticker on the SLAB plate is dated 1994.  It's been awhile since my plates have had an old ride to go on.  Last car was a 77 nova that I pulled from a wrecking yard and along with two other junker Novas from the TRI-AD and made it into a pretty nice car.  Ancient history now.   It will be soon time to make some more memories with the slab plates.

Rich

Well Kurt...It's not a dream. Ben and I went on a test drive to Port Dover and back in and around Brantford with no major issues(surprisingly) . I have an exhaust rattle and for some reason near the end of our 3 hour drive the car was idling faster than it should. No tach yet but I would guess at the start of the night it idled at 600-700 and at the end of the night around 900-1000. The 2500 stall is working good and the trans has a shift kit with firm shifts and will chirp the tires into 2nd gear at will. Ben loves this old car and was pretty happy in the passenger seat but his grin got a lot bigger as he was driving it home.

All ready took it a part again! Sucks but I am going to get the leafs re arched. Car keeps getting lower and lower especially on the passenger side. Put two people in the back and the tires rubbed on corners and the exhaust hit the leafs. I may have just put too big of a tire on! LOL But there sure is a lot of travel on them leafs.

Just back from Sparta where Ben and I drag raced our cars. Ben did a best time in a loosing effort of 17.2 in the 87 Camaro 2.8 V6 and I won with a 16.16 at 86mph in the Nova wagon with a 283 V8. We both had a blast and nothing broke!!

it was a 1.5 hr drive each way and both cars worked great.  Great seeing John again at the track as well.  I really was hoping for a 15.99 but I'll take the 16 low.  Maybe with some shorter tires on the rear I could run the number.  I might get 500 miles on it before I have to put it into hibernation! biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Sure is fun to be driving it instead of hoping to drive it "someday"

Tonight my 16 yr old Daughter Rachel drove the Nova Wagon. She has her beginners and said she liked it so much, she wants to drive it all the time while learning. It sure taught her a thing or two about how to steer! Quick lesson in hand over hand steering. LOL The smiles from her were one of those "priceless" moments. It's all good...

Street racing = bad
That's what I have been preaching to the kids so, I will have to play by the same rules!
But Cayuga is still open for Friday night racing.....

As far as the "NEW" motor goes.......your just going to have to show up to see....

but........just a quick question.......how much of a cage do I need if i'm under 10's ??????

and at what time do I need a fire suit? and ......do I have to cover my NOS bottles in the back of the delivery?

If I cut a hole in the floor so I can see where I am....can I cover it with plexiglass?

Do I gear for 1000 ft or 1280 ? are there any special rules for twin turobos?

Last question......promise......at what time do I need a paracute?

I just want to be prepaired and dont want to get teched out....so you win by default...

Just sayin

Ummmmmmmmmmm...........Maybe John can answer those questions????? I am so slow, I don't need to know about that stuff. But I will warn you that at Sparta they charge $100.00/hr to clean the mess up if your car blows up!! Just say'n

11.49 & quicker- roll bar,5 point harness, axle retention, axle studs, and what ever the rule book says, one layer jacket.

NOS bottles can be uncovered-no holes in the floor (track positioning) no special rules for twin hair dryers, and 150mph and faster you need Silk. If in doubt consult the NHRA rule book.

Could be Glen, your Falcon looks fast when standing still. Maybe a handicap head start for Rich

The Falcon was at my house today but I wasn't home. I was at a buddies house in NY checking out his 67 Station wagon Nova Race car. Tubs , Cage and pretty fast! You know of him John from Steve's Nova site....his handle is Pandora's Box. It might be a pretty good run between Glen with his 2bbl 289 and my 283 4bbl.

I came by Rich....put 92 octane in it....flipped the air filter....let a little air out of the drag slicks.....uncorked the mufflers......

Rolled up the windows.....emptied the trash out of the back.......armour all'd the tires.......fresh wipe down with a dirty rag.....

I was ready to post a low...............18 run ................. and KICK YOUR AZZ

I was ready FOR YOU!......oh well.......another day

Here's a couple pics from Waterford Pumpkin fest.  Pretty cold but there was a good turn out.

After 20 years I was able to park beside an old friends car again.  He's in his 80's now and still loves taking out his Novas.  This one has around 23000 original miles.  Original paint and interior.

I don't know who owned the black one but it was sick!

Got a bit more done on the wagon that I didn't finish last year.  Cleaned up the centre body line trim and sandblasted some of the seat steel for the passenger side.  Still need to buy a few things before spring.

Backed it up a bit and let her run and warm up a bit.
