Well here is a breakdown of where I am now. I started with a bare model a frame the end of September and have worked almost daily to get where I am now. Hoping for summer cruises or at least Kalamazoo in September.

Will post more pics as it comes together. Thanks for any input people may have.

Cheers

Pete

Thanks for the compliments..My first build so needless to say it's been a challenge….An enjoyable challenge
The hoist is a weaver auto crane that was manufactured in Chatham Ontario….Still has the name plates on it..It does need a little tlc

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would update and let everyone know this project has not fallen of the jack stands so to speak.

I have started piecing it together and have completed the wiring and had it running, even using old barn board from my great grandfathers barn that was built around 1905 in the box and a piece on the dash

keeping all the dents etc. to portray that old beat up tow truck look.

Of course opinions are appreciated and not necessarily followed biggrin

Happy viewing

That bed floor looks awesome. What did you use for hold downs? Is that just flat bar?

Hey everyone,

Still working like crazy on the tow truck and now need opinions on making the running boards from the old barnboard that I have from my great grandfathers barn or should I just use metal. Originals are not an option as I stretched the T out for a small block etc.
I would like to know what you all think.

Thanks

Thanks for the input everyone.
I like the barn board idea as the truck is a 1925 back in my great grandfathers era and the barn was built around 1905 so the wood has a little sentimental value to it. grabbed a bunch of it when the barn finally collapsed about 5 or so years ago along with some big timbers that were hand carved back in the day.
I will post picks of the finished boards.

Cheers

Still plugging away, thanks for the positive feedback. the next months of winter are going to be the longest as this comes together and the urge to drive it increases.

Have a happy new year everyone.

That's a cool looking rig. One of my first plastic models I built as a kid was a C cab tow truck called "The Hangman". Seeing your truck took me back there... good times. I can really appreciate a restored or hopped up work truck. Keep up the good work!

Hey everyone.. has been a while since I posted cut the umbilical cord to the feeder gas can I was using to run it and am now hooked to the gas tank and its good to go. just been puttering with little things like fluid levels etc. waiting for all this snow to disappear so I can get my car hauler out and take the truck for front end alignment and exhaust work. I'm hoping
April showers bring May car shows.
Cheers

Definitely will...Winter has kicked our butts up here this year. Still a huge amount of snow here including snow blocking my garage door that I have to start breaking down.

Thanks for the compliment on the old wrecker
