Tomorrow morning beginning at 8 am we are having an automotive event for the graduating high school class at CCSS high school on Clarington Blvd in Bowmanville. We have offered them 5 cool vehicles as "Rides for Prom" and they are having an assembly about responsible choices around Prom.
By signing a pledge not to drink and drive at Prom, they get their name entered for a chance to win a Ride. there will be reps from MADD there and Durham regional police with a vintage cruiser!
If you'd like to come out, with or without your ride, drop by in the morning. We will be there till about 1030 am.
Check out on facebook, "MyPromIs" for more details
Gary, I drove through Hampton this morning, if I had known, I could have gone tomorrow instead and just carried on to Bowmanville.
A lot of good memories of spending the summers at our "farmhouse" just south of Taunton Rd. and Old Scugog Rd. The house is now a store of some sort.
Good luck with your event, congratulations to all involved!
Had another event this morning, this time in Markham. We got a chance to share some stories with the students about bad choices some from our Generation had made about drinking and driving at school events and what the costs were. Also got to share our vehicles with them and they got to ask a lot of questions. It really was an upbeat assembly and would love to get some pics from their Prom, themed as "The Great Gatsby". Some of the 1920s and 1930s cars would be a great addition
We wil be going back before the end of the school year to share again, this time with the kids in the Challenged classes. If anyone is interested, I will post it ahead of time here. It really is the best sharing with those kids because they are pure excitement about the vehicles!
