if you want to run zooomies then do it!!!
When you get to be a old fart (like some of us) you will think back on it as a memorable experience.
Nothing worse then thinking I wish I had of _ _ _ _ _ _ back when I was younger.
If you get pulled over just do your best at azz kissin.
You should be able to talk your way out of it unless you were being a real dick when you got pulled over.
Will you run them for a long time?? Probably not,,you will probably get sick of the smell and the noise.
You have to admit the Model A above looks pretty damn wild.
Good luck
TMJ

Steve
do you have any more pictures of the Model A above?? where is it out of ??

It was my buddy Brent's Model A but he sold it to someone in Quebec a few years ago. I do have many, many pics of it. The Funnycar is gone too!cry

Well Mike, you mentioned your working on your project...so I'm guessing it has to be safety checked yet. If this is the case, take the time to talk to your mechanic and see what his/her take is on it. I never had been asked to do a safety with zoomies so I don't know how I would have handled it. I also don't have the current up to date rules in front of me, so I'm in the dark with it. A lot more than once, things get changed after a period of time has passed after a safety has been done. Noise will be the big factor, if it's a cop caller and you get some unwanted attention, you know as well as the rest of us, that little slip of paper is expensive. I would think it runs along the same line as no fenders, there is a grey area with it. Act sensible and you'll likely get a smile and a wave. If you do get pulled over, it's because they want a good look at your ride. There are some gearheads on the force and they get it, but they also have a job to do. The trick is, not doing anything where they have to do their job.

Thanks for your school yard advice..

For Me I always liked brainstorming, different views, opinions, healthy arguments, schoolyard fights, mini skirts, stinky finger, tipping over out-houses, loud exhaust, rusty rockers, no floors, full moons, I have learned a lot by watching, listening, asking the dumb questions, making mistakes, getting up and trying again when I fell down or got my azz kicked..I have found with women if you turn them upside down in a 45 gallon drum with no pants they all smell the same .. I like opinions, debates, arguments, differing thoughts and controversial opinions..

It is what makes this a democracy with the freedom of speech and the absolute right to be wrong, or right, or someplace in between..I try to learn something from every post even if I disagree, or don't understand, I enjoy seeing, reading or participating in a spirited discussion it's good for our cardiovascular health..way better than a lot of boards where every body is a azz kisser, or goody-goody.. or likes to whine about the those who do engage in spirited discussions.. I notice those who like to come and make those little pissy remarks never have anything to say, never have an argument or take a position, content to be fence sitters until they think it's safe to go with the winner..I enjoy and respect entrepreneurs they are the leaders ,they are often loud and boisterous but creative and courageous by nature the rest are just followers.. kinda like if you don't own a schnauzer then you just have a dog... biggrin confuse

 Oh. Thanks.

I've ran them for 3 years now with no problems. They make having conversations/radio more challenging to hear. I have baffles in each pipe to knock down the noise a bit. Quieter=less attention from the noise police

I know a few guys running them . put baffles in them and don,t lean on the throttle like ricers or Harley guys do and you can get by . but you have to jet the carb or set the f I set up to go along with your set up ..77.

Bolt them on Mike. If this is part of the image you want for your car then go with it. Personally, I think they're cool as h*ll. Practical?....who cares, it's a hot rod right? If I ever get around to doing the Comet the way I want it's getting fenderwell's and an electric dump right behind the wheels. Deal with any issues if and when they arise, meanwhile have at it and have fun.

So I got the zombies I got from Glenn all welded up and ran them on the engine and MAN THEY WERE AWSOME I mean there loud as hell and make the walls in the garage rattle and I'm pretty sure my neighbours hate me but they are fun to run. The only issue I have with them is they interfered with my steering box clearance so I made new ones and theses ones are even better

Bruce,

Your son was my daughters shop teacher for 4 years. She really admired him and the opportunity to be part of the build of his Hot Rod. Saw it before and after the paint update. Really looks good. Haven't seen the car much in the last couple years but I am sure it is being well taken care of. :)

As for the zoomies, heard them with and without baffles. With is my preference. :)
