 I got the points from ESPN yesterday after race.....just checked now and they have been changed...I guess ESPN had it wrong for a while......I will redo it tonight when I get a chance

I'd suggest using the Nascar site as they have improved a lot in the last year with speed and accuracy of coverage . The sports networks don't feature racing and can be slow to report up to date results .

I've gotta think WWF, oops ....Nascar will , ahem , have some Jeffy Gordon caution flags because of all the hype surrounding his last year . Kind of like all the Jimmy Johnson cautions that used to fly when he needed it most ..." Bubble gum wrapper in turn 3 ! Yellow , Yellow ! ......and Jimmy gets his lap back , pits , they change motor , trans , new paint job , Jimmy has lunch and a couple of Shirley Temples and hes back out in 11.2 seconds . So-ho-ho , boys and girls , Nascar has determined that 4 ....count 'em , 4 , drivers will contend for the cup / trophy / wrestling belt next week . Of the 4 " esteemed , elite , cream of the crop we have :

- one guy who missed almost 1/3 of the season
- one guy who got in to the chase by the skin of his butt at the very last minute
-another guy who was mediocre
- and one legitimate front runner all season .

.....gone are people with up to 6 ( ! ) wins . The " Ken and Barbie " of Nascar ....that would be the lovely Danica and the almost as lovely Ricky , COMBINED for a whopping ONE top five the entire season . Impressive ....Such is NASCAR where wrecking what was once a good sport is top priority . I wonder how many grandstand seats will be pulled out next year ? Again .

Nascar has 4 nice potential stories    

If  Truex Jr wins   its the little guy beating the giant  story    

If  K Bush  wins   its the comeback of the year  

If  Harvick wins    its the Champion  doing a good job again  

If  Gordon wins   its the Fairytale ending to a man who helped make Nascar a great show

Gordon will win with the help of Nascar ( provide a couple of yellow flags if and when needed ) ....they like fairy tale endings . I think Harvick is most deserving but that rarely counts for anything . He has been dominant .

Helpful cautions have been the norm for years. It was my son who noticed years ago that everytime Dale-sr went a lap down somehow debris was noticed on the track. Not a new tool ,I think all sports have some form of this. Ed
