What's a running, 1954 hemi 291 worth?  I have one that I'm looking to sell but can't quite place a value yet.

Thanks

Ryan

A 291 is a desoto and just so you don't get your hopes up real high, the desoto's are the least valuable hemi and very expensive to get parts for. They tend to go for just a little less than the Dodge Red Rams. Each of the early hemi's are pretty much on their own parts wise with very little interchange between lines.

The 291 was available in both 2 and 4 barrel motors. The 4 brl intake is kinda scarce, and has some value by itself. I see them for sale in the $300-400 area for just the intake/carb. I have seen complete 4brl motors for $800-1500 in good running condition.

The 2 brl and industrial motors are not worth a lot - $500-1000 complete and running seems to be the range.

If they are not running, then cut all the prices in half as they would be considered a core motor needing a rebuild.
