I have question about DRL lights, I am thinking of bringing back to Ontario a 2001 PT Cruiser,I called RIV and they said it does not have to go in the program, because it is older than 15 years,so it isn't required to have DRLs on it,because DRLs are a federal item, not provincial,so I looked up the safety rules and now it states that it has to have DRLs ,so my question, is there any Licenced mechanics out here that can shed some light ( no pun intended) on this U.S. imported vehicle that does not have DRLs on it,Thanks

Does it have headlights that automatically turn on when it gets dark??
If it does just put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor.

My 97 has DRLs....I see quite a few newer vehicles without the DRLs on....I figure the owner disabled them or they are a US import.

My wifes 2005 minivan just uses the front parking lights as DRLs...came that way from factory.
If it is required to import, I wonder if a couple of cheapo driving lights wired in when the key is on would satisfy them?
