Gas gauge 1957 Chev
Permalink

Hi everyone......... I am trying to get gas gauge to work . Its on the empty mark or below . there is 12 volts at the gauge but no power going to the S post .

I tried a continuity tester to check across the I post and the S post . no continuity  on the multi meter .

Should there be continuity between the posts ? Thanks for help .

Jerry

Try grounding the wire at the gas tank. The gauge should go to full. Maybe it is a bad ground at the tank.

57 should use 30(full) to 0 (empty) ohms If you disconnect the s wire from the gauge and turn the ignition on it should read full.
