I talked with Rob Potter who has been putting this show together, There has been alot of interest shown from racers and car clubs and gearheads. It should be very successful and i sure would love to see those Nostalgia Race/Drag photos and movies, while your there not only can you checkout the nostalgia race cars but vintage aircraft........

The picture i posted below is from the 70s a member of this forum, only hint i can give you he currently owns a 32 and the other guy also is a well known rodder and i believe he owns a 36 rag top

GOOD LUCK putting names to these shady looking characters

Your good, i wouldn't of thought anyone would guess that one, Ward on the right in this picture sure does look like he was a "Wild Child" lol, last time I seen Bob Ward was at the Rodmasters Car Club 40th reunion, we held a rod run from the Ancaster Fairgrounds out the backroads along the Grand River and went to CAYUGAAA DRAGWAY lastyear about 200 cars showed up, he had his ford convertable there that has the paint job that looks like someone just coated the top half in liquid choclate and its dripping down the sides (just my opinion lol) I'm not even sure Ward has ever seen this picture, i can't even remember where i got it from .............

The 2 pictures are of his ride from the reunion

Only 2 weeks away, I have been asked to display my Anglia, I know the Piston Pushers will be there in full force and ONDR (Ontario Nostalgia Drag Racing) will have several cars on display, alot of support across Ontario, setup is Saturday and the show is Sunday at the War Plane Museum in the Hamilton Airport.

It should be a really good time and a hell of a cackle fest with stories and pics of an era most would like to relive again.......

Not a lot of hype flying around for this event. Too bad because it should be a good time. A bunch of us from the Piston Pushers are taking our cars out there together to dress up the parking lot. After the show we plan on rolling to Dover for supper. Any and all are welcome to join us.

By the way Chris, ya looked like you where enjoying yourself rollin down RR. #5 today while I was out toiling in the fields. The Belair's lookin good.

Rumor has it in the airport industry that the Museum is being evicted from the Hamilton Airport, anyone else hear anything of this? I'd hate to think that the big bomber has nowhere to rest.....

I'm gonna throw my two cents into the ring ... the entire Buttonville airport is closing, the owners (Sifton family) own Armadale Properties and they are shutting down the airport and developing the property (with a partner).  I am not aware of any museum on their site.

I think the museum (planes) you are talking about is the one at Downsview Airport.  The people running the museum were kicked out for nonpayment of rent (allegedly).  They are the ones with the Lancaster bomber all in pieces (saved from it previous life displayed on a post near the Ex).

I attended a car/plane show (drive or fly in) this past summer at the Downsview airport, the highlight (for me) was the Canadian Forces fighter jet that flew in on Sat and flew out on Sunday.  You were able to walk around the plane and talk to the pilots.  Guess that won't ever be happening again.

Thanks for the correction, i'm not from that area, i knew something in TO was closing, its such a shame to see a Canadian Vintage Aircraft Museum anywhere closing, our government should be finding them an alternate site, but won't......

Sorry about the photo quality and if I didn't get em all. Still in the learning curve. If any one recognizes a car, please identify its owner / history, so all get the credit for participation. It was a great show. Well done Rob Potter!

Nice job on the photography. You really captured the whole show. The aircraft made a great backdrop for sure. It was a real treat listening to a lot of the old boys reminiscing. Its incredible the amount of real history that was in that room yesterday. Hats off to Rob and his wife for a well done show. I hope he does it again.

I chatted with Rob Potter after the show, he had hoped for about 500 spectators, he exceeded the number almost 3x it was a success, proceeds go to War Plane Heritage and its on again for next year to be bigger and better.

It was a Kool idea to hold a a car show with such unique content, the drag cars with the Vintage aircraft, i was impressed and so were many others, there were no complaints, even the food served at the cantine was good, I really did enjoy myself and as i looked around this huge hanger so many groups of people of 5 or more bench racing and remembering the way it was, as ONDR would say a "Blast from the past"

I'd like to congratulate Rob Potter for his continous efforts and hard work on his 1st show and sharing with us his incredible collection of Drag Racing memorablia, prints and videos. i was also blown away at the artwork and prints he produces a very talented artist..........

Here are some photos i took Kenny
