Today I received the piece of trim I have been looking for some time, its in reasonable shape, I’ve straightened the other out. Once I do some minor tiging on a few cracks I’ll be looking for a good place to get both of them rechromed, and thoughts (I’m in Barrie.)
Next question, the general motors truck trim is gust over two feet long. It seems to be held on by bending four tabs over. BUT what will stop the trim from rubbing right threw the paint.
As far as the trim with the tabs that your worried about. 3m sells a clear rubber tape (mainly used to prevent stone chipping) if you cut small pieces and stick them on the tabs......... invisable barrier.
Thats a good idea
I used to put grease (new) behind each piece of trim
I figured it was easier to wipe off a little drip, than rust...
I've used Cambridge Chrome, advertised in Old Autos, "not cheap" but what is now days, especially with all the enviroment laws we have here in "Premier Dad's" [ Mc Goofy] Province of Ont. Much cheaper in western Prov.'s from what my neighbour told me when he had some pcs. done for his 56 Monarch

Try http://www.fairmontelectroplating.com/ they are in Saskatoon but a buddy says it is well worth sending the parts out via BPX (bus parcel express). It's the only place he uses and the chrome looks excellent. I've saved their contact info for future use myself. Hope this helps.
I've used Fairmount also, shipped via bus, great prices and very nice work. I've had the bumper on the car for 7 years now and still no sign of pitting. Although I should point out, the quality of work is OEM, not triple plate show quality like Cambridge Custom Chrome.
By the way, speaking of Old Auto's and platers, did I hear correctly, or read somewhere that "PlatingMaster" out of London went out of business? They're still advertising in Old Autos.
I have used Cambridge Chrome fo the trim on some of my antique stove restorations. They were great, good job,on time, and at the agreed to price. Can't ask for more than that.I would use them again. Ed
