Would be cool...I always liked Studebakers and many of their designs seemed ahead of their time.

Anybody remember the white 49-50 studebaker that raced at Cayuga years back in the low stock class, named "The Maggot" ?? Did a lot of wins there.

Owned by Pete ??

Sasquatch - You ought to know Peter ( Maggot ) MAGEL's name by now as you've been forced to put up with me with a lot of contact in mutual forums where I wouldn't let the subject of Peter Magel/Maggot go. A lot of guilt from me as he was dying and I had never been more involved with him than I was ( mostly circumstances ). It seems to me though
you had posted some favorable things about my kid brother in other forums. If not you brought his name back here. But in the end and soon at least for me at 85 it won't make much difference as unless older fathers and grand fathers tell their kids / gr.kids about
the Maggot there won't be any body around that ever saw him run/heard of him. Unfortunately when you run Jr. Stock no matter how good you are they don't write books about you. My thanks to every body who ever gives him a thought. Carr

Hey Carr. We have chatted on here before and I have been searching for pics of " THE MAGGOT " as it raced at Niagara as that's where my memories of Peter are. I have not stopped looking and if I do find something I will post it. It seems to me there was a pic posted on this forum some time back from its Cayuga days but I have not been able to find any from Niagara. If I find one I will post it on this site. I won,t forget Peter or all the good times at Niagara.

Studebaker made engines for B-17's during the war.
Studebaker was the sole importer for Mercedes in North America.
I have a brick from the Hamilton Studebaker factory as it was being torn down.
