Yeah I just orderd mine from TCPGlobal along with a bunch of striping brushes. Shipping $120.00 Hazmat 35.00 on top of that and add duties and brokerage on top of that again. I bought $189.00 worth of product and I bet by the time the dust settles Im gona be out $400.00 for a ltr of paint and some brushes. Not complaing because the car is worth every penny...lol but it still hurts.

That seems to be the limiting factor with this hobby at times. Getting goods across the border with out doubling the price....... So does this mean you can lay down some real strips on the rat now. lol The 35 that is!

Ok Scott bring it back and we will finish it for you...lol. The brushes are for a friend who lost interest in striping a few years back. He is very talented and went through a nasty divorce and just lost interest. So by gifting him these brushes I hope it will be a kick start for him. Too much talent to go to waste.

Too bad you had to have the "Hot rod flats" brand. any auto paint supply store could pour off any amount of black single stage, matting agent and hardener. any colour in fact. then you take a black sharpie and write whatever you want on the outside of the can. all for a fraction of the international "Hot rod flats" price $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I work at the local NAPA store (delivery guy).....It is owned by Ideal Supply, I know they have a big place in Midland. We do all kinds of paint mixing in small quantities. I cant think of the brand we use off hand, can have a look on Monday. I am sure its good quality.

Thats awesome you are trying to get your Friend back into the craft.

I'm sure your gift will be the catalyst to get him back in the game. Way to go!

Hey guys the black on the car was a urathane delfleet essentials satin black. It was bought local and I think I only paid like 130.00 for the one gal kit. Laid down better than Sems Hot Rod Black. The paint I bought was a single stage pearl for some graphics. And I always try to support the small business local guy. In this case the could not mix what I wanted. The flatz line had exactly what I needed but at a price. It was only $59.00 for the one quart kit but the real costs are in freight.
