The prestigious Winfield Award for automotive excellence is selected by master car customizer Gene Winfield. The award is given each year at the Syracuse Nationals. Gene has been designing and building custom vehicles for over 60 years, his work has been published in dozens of automotive magazines around the world. Gene has also built many vehicles for the movie industry.
Entry vehicles have to be 1937 or newer and have at least one major body modification. Either chopped, channeled or sectioned.
From the entries Gene Winfield will nominate twelve vehicles that will be invited to the 2012 Syracuse Nationals and displayed indoors. Friday evening of the show at the sponsors reception Gene will narrow the field down to six vehicles to be known as the “Select Six”. Each of the six receives a beautiful custom plaque, jacket and a $500 check courtesy of Meguiar’s.
The Winfield Award winner will be announced by Gene on Saturday July 21,2012 at the annual Syracuse Nationals dinner dance. The winner will receive the beautiful custom Winfield trophy, winners jacket and a $5,000 check courtesy of Meguiar’s.
