Redoing a "project"

Recently picked up a "needs finishing" prefect(anglia) off a buddy of mine who traded his car for it....Was one of those yup...it runs , it drives blah blah blah deals...just needs some finishing touches when he traded for it. After getting the car to his place, it ran alright ....on 4 of it's 6 cylinders....had no brakes whatsoever...the steering was sloppy...and thats being nice hmm...Anyways, to shorten this story somewhat...he eventually sold the v6 and tranny out of it and it sat....now i come into the picture...i see some potential sitting there,,..i offer him my dragster,,,even trade... he turns me down....go figure ...a guy comes along and offers me a nice Monza for the dragster...i contact my buddy and ask him if he wants a Monza in trade,,,, i keep the drivetrain out of the Monza though.....done deal....Now comes the "needs finishing" project sitting in my garage,,,first thing i do is yank out the interior...oh oh...shulda left it glued there,,,,,floor is tacked together here and there and silicone fills the gaps.......ok...here we go .........go over the whole car....glad i did,,  with a small ball peen hammer i attacked everything that was welded...didn't take much to start knocking the pieces off...save for but a few...A few weeks later...the car is solid  enough to drop a small block in it with a 350 tranny...did i mention the fire hazard of wiring mess?...well its cleaned up now also...actually tossed out and redone completely..so, in goes the 355 .try the custom made headers....gotta move the steering shaft....out goes the tilt column and in goes a shaft with removable wheel...hook it up to the steering box and notice it moves quite abit (the box) when turning the wheels side to side....out comes the hammer and whap....knock the steering box and the piece it was bolted to right off the frame...doh damn....soooooooo, we redo that....looks good now,,feels good to...with a makeshift fuel supply to the carb and new shifter hooked up i decide i gotta see if this thing moves.....cus i'm a guy  and impatient  sometimes....open the garage door,,,fire it up,,,sound great with cam and open headers...idle it out a bit, then hit the gas...car shoots forward hard...i go to hit the brakes,,,,,oh ****..... fergot there was none.....after pumping the pedal furiously i get enough pressure to get it stopped.....back in the garage it goes,,,new master cylinder, and pedal ...we gots brakes!.....now its time to button this thing up.... rerun new fuel line to the carb from the pump..AFTER taking out the old one and relocating rear brake line that both ran through the coil spring on the coil overs...disbelief....You all getting the picture here?... Just saying when buying a project that has been started...do not take the sellers word on what needs to be done or what they have done...go over the vehicle from top to bottom...so what if you got to tear things apart to check something......it may save your life ...Now i am no proffesional at building rods but i have done a few and i am glad i took ,,,rather got this car off my buddy, and redid it completely because he would not have gone over it,,,,he is a trusting guy that believes what a seller tells him..
