I like it small budget builds they are my favorite. Any one should be able to build a cool car with lots of money. Its allot harder to build a cool car with no money.

Yes exactly, I'd rather see a guy do as much himself or with the help of some buddies as possible... not to farm out a build and bragg on how much money was spent to have the rod built by Joe Blow builder. So far I'm the only one on this build. My wife isn't even on board......maybe that's why I'm not driving it yet ?????

my first project i farmed out because i hadn't done any of that stuff before and didn't want to screw up. well the shop went bust and i got raped. i'll try anything once and fine out its not that hard. i'm doing 2 engines right now and i've farmed out the machine work but i'm doing all the wrenching. as for wiring follow a schematic. both my jeep and 55 and a couple bikes were wired from scratch. i used to have no use for computer. i had a solar power calulator what else did i need. my boss told me get off the pot and piss computer are here. so i took a whole bunch of computer courses now i'm a computer weenie that still plays freecell.

I see the date is wrong on my pictures last 3 pictures should be Nov 27 2016.
So far I have built everything myself right here.
If only I had a dime for every day this sat with a tarp on it.

Thanks, for the encouragement.

I've been pokin' at this thing for arround 6-7 yrs now,  but I can honestly say I built this myself.

Chopped it 4"

Sectioned the quarters 3.5"

Stretched the hood 4"

Built my own frame with 7" kick ups

Built my own headers & exhaust

Channeled the back 5"

Fully bagged suspension

Haven't got to the interior yet. but I'm gonna do that too.

I have pictures of the build, but I won't pollute you with them. If you need ideas or want to see how I did mine... Just ask

Yes Sir,
I only know of two guys in Sudbury that might be the Northern rat rodder.
Just in-case you don't want your name mentioned.... You'd be the guy I sold the "Rollin sixes" door to. Or his Uncle.

Still building...added the fenders and figuring out how I'll make the running boards.

I made the stands for the headlights too. and I didn't know where to mount the battery, So I put it in the tank on the front of the car.

Thanks,
The hood sides were kinda something that wasn't planned... I couldn't use the original sides because of the headers and I also stretched the hood 4 inches. It looks fine without the side panels but one day I thought I would add something..... I have the metal break, bead roller, dimple dies... just added booze and this is what I ended up with.
I just want it to be mine and not some cookie cutter hot rod.

Still at it...... work all week and play around on the weekends.

Lately I've been installing a 20 circuit wiring harness from Speedway... I guess it's the same as the Painless wiring kit

even know all the wires are marked some stuff is confusing. almost done!

I hope.

Taking a break from the wiring.... This weekend I started the interior.

I had the seats recovered before and the price was a shocker, so I'm tackling the rest myself.

I was originally going to see about sewing some seams but I don't sew or want to. Spray contact cement and 1/4 hard board works for me.

I also made my center console out of sheet metal then glued the vinyl to it.

Well here's where I'm at

It took a little longer than planned to finish the running boards..... With Motorama one weekend, sick for a week and work out of town another week.

figured out a way to fasten my hood down too. using some rubber seals and guitar parts.

The bottle is strictly there for a measurement guage .... I don't want people to get the wrong impression of me....

-Cut arched shaped cedar for the roof and installed it.

-Finished wiring the lights, horn, fan ect... in the front.

-Finished the running board on the right side.

-Replaced an air line that I cut to one of the front bags.

-Filtered a bunch of beer through my body.

When I started on the car I contacted Stoney for opinions on chopping it... I'm glad I took his advice. I don't think I'd like it without the chop.

I'm also the guy who saw his company logo ripped off by a custom car builder in the states.

Why they wanted the top of a maple leaf  in an amarican logo ??? perhaps they don't pay attention to detail, and not creative either.
