I think it would be worth some big bucks of you had some RAMCHARGER decals on it or maybe MOTOWN MISSILE and some really fat tires out back .Just a thought. Ed
i like the big block idea that is in the part of future plan ...........ok pedigree the car has all the sign that show it is an ex police car .....except the motor was change someone put a slant six ....... everything else the tranny and rear end are made to take the power of a 440 .........location s in my garage ............ the rest well i can drive it .........it was driven from Timmins to my place .......and i bought it just on that pic ..........what you see is what you get lollllllllllll........... i even knew less than what i just wrote
Slant Six, plain jane Savoy.I'll be the first to bite. I'd put that car at around $3500 for insurance purposes but realistically with the times being what they are if it were to sell, I'd say you would be stretching to get $2800 for it. Not trying to offend if I did, just being honest.. Chris.

Hey Chris, maybe I should become an "appraiser" cause that the figure I came up with as well. Thats a "good" honest opinion & also like the sales price as well, seems a few people think the appr. value is whats it would sell for?? This Chryco. looks really solid [from pic] Leaning "tower of power" 6cyl. doesn't eliminate it from being a old cop car as some city patrol cars were 6 's Hard to give an evaluation from one 20' picture???

thanks for the great reply ok..........question number 2 ......beeing a plane jane savoy 2 door post makes the car the only kind you you can use to clone and have a maxwedge .......now i know that part don t mean anything for insurance appraisal.......now for the mopar guy does it change the selling price a little lollllllll may be not ?
Geez as a kid we used to hang around the police station in our part of Toronto, I'd say most of the Big Furys were sixes in the late sixties. No need for a 383 or 440 to patrol streets with 25 MPH speed limits.
Even today don't assume all Chargers you see are Hemi's cause they are not, Impalas did not use the V8 in recent years either.
If you go Max Wedge in that restored nicely I think you are talking $35,000. The real deals go $60,000 to $80,000. Anyone doing this will want to score the car for as little as possible.

the chance of me owning a real maxwedge are 0............it will never happen lollllllllllllll i almost bought the complete vintage running hemi the guy offered me when i bought the car but it would of cost me another???? .................well lot of money or a divorce lollllllllllllll
You can pick up early Hemis at reasonable cost. I've seen 354's for $1,000, it's the look your are going for anyway so only a die hard Mopar guy will know the difference.
i think i ll just keep my eyes open for a 383 or 440 .....the 440 already has 370 hp i think it is enough to get me in trouble .........................knowing all the crazy street racing stuff i did when i was young i could just figure what i ll do at the street lights
I would keep an eye out for a big old Chrysler laying around....will have that 383 or 440, although not the high horsepower one, will still have plenty of torque for that car.
I dont know about those years, but in the late 60s, the slant six used a different "K" member than the v8s

As I was reading down the page i thought about the K member & you beat me to it!!! Almost certain the K members are different. One of my car club guys did a 64 Polara, 6cyl. to a 413 & had to swap out the"K" for the V8 set up!!!

i don t think i mention anywhere the price i paid ?
Flatduck, you gotta "read between the lines on this one" he's saying the car is "worth" whatever you paid for it [however much it was] to you & you alone!!!! In other words whatever you paid thats what it's worth to "you" Maybe worth 'more" or maybe "less' on the open market!!!

Hi! I've been playing with early B-Bodys for awhile, right now i can tell you that it being a savoy post car makes well sought after. More & more aftermarket parts available. People the Kramers & Joe Suchy are the aftermarket providers.. Looks like a real kool car.. If you decide to sell? Don't give it away.. These cars are getting harder to find.. and remember we live in Canada. so a good one makes it worth that much more...

Not sure if i have ever seen a two door cop car from that era anyway.
I got to see the "BACK" seat of one when I was around 10 or 11 yrs. old!!! black 57 Chevy 2 dr. sedan But the thing I remember most, was how big that cop looked!!!!

take a 400 ??? cid block , bore stroke it out to as far as you can go . Get the funkiest style of cast iron Dodge cast iron ram horn exhaust manifolds you can find / fit in their . Extrude hone them out to the limits . Not terribly loud but find the least horsepower robbing exhaust system you can find .
727 with the lightest strongest 2nd gear hub you can get with a good shift kit .
Soooper stock the rear springs or use one of the cal trac mono leaf kits 3.70 / 3.90 gear set , locker .
get an obsolete but works great aftermarket intake manifold .
Basically leave rest of car as is
start hanging out with guys that can tune the motor trans suspension combo .
Learn how to drive it .
Go to an ONDRA or other vintage race meet
Tell everyone that you think it has an old 383 in it
Get it to the line
When the lights drop STAND on it
and laff your azz of for the next 11.2 seconds .
Back in the pits just keep repeating , well , the guy said it was a 383 .
Stop and get A an W on the way home

can i will throw this in here as i know i went through a huge learning curve on mopars when i put the hemi in my coronet about 15 yrs ago. the most info on any b-body car that you ever thought you might want to know will be found on the FBBO site, For B Bodies Only. -for reference only as it's very old info now, i have a Cars of Particular Interest black book dated march-april 2008 and they list that car at, -63 savoy sedan fair 2000.00 good 3600.00 excellent 7200.00
My 66 Biscayne 2 door post 396 I sold a couple of years ago was originally a police car. Rubber floor mats, radio delete, sway bars front and back, posy and automatic turbo 400. Sold it at the Lindsay swap meet to a fellow from Nova Scotia who made a second trip here to pick it up. Needed restoring rust free New Mexico state trooper car and it went for a lot more than above. Just an idea what sleepers go for. A picture of it right where I found it in New Mexico where they were about to scrap it. The right place at the right time.

i agree with you joe that a 396 2 door biscayne, especially if it was an original 396 car, is/would be worth a lot more than a 6 cyl 2 door savoy and if the savoy was a 383 car it would be worth as much as the 396 also, maybe more as the production numbers would be less.
-
the same book lists the 66 biscayne sedan,--fair at 2000.00,--good at 3725.00,--excellent at 7450.00
-
like someone mentioned earlier that these cars are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for them.
