my 71 Nova came with the first   shoulder belt system which were a pain in the ____ to put on the should belt is separate from the seat belt ...............my questionis can i modified it to the later system .............anyone know if 72 73 74 are the same or which year did they change................i know for mechanical fitness there suppose to stay original ......but i still would like to change it

Use the seatbelt wizard "choose seat belt help" link top left on this page.

74 was the first year to have the modern style retractable shoulder belts but I don't think they will work in other 3rd gens as they have a recessed pocket in the b pillar in 74.

personal preference  ...

My 71 Ventura II from Oregon had a (new) newer shoulder belt system     Dam near strangled me...   I cut it out, and threw in garbage.....installed new lap belts
