I was told John Booth has decided not to run peir 4 for a number of reasons and that Hutches were looking into running it at same location.I hope Hutches does get it up and running, its a great location and being on grass makes it perfect. It seems Burlington Mall one is done. Gate Way in Grimsby started early this year. They get some great turn outs.Tuesday nights.
Yes it is Official Pier 4 is CANCELLED for the 2012 Season, but will return for 2013 possibly on another day with more Local Support and Major Sponsors and Support from various Local Car Clubs Increased costs set forth by The City of Hamilton, Insurance and Permits and some other red tape, it was just not feesable for the 2012 Season, for the organizers and John Booth to put on a successful event each and every week throught the Cruising Season it's just not about showing up on thursday nites and enjoying a wonderful evening with friends, there is 2-3 days prep work each week . The success of any event is also partially due to the outstanding hard work of volenteers who come out weekly. I have talked with John Booth several times in the last few months and we are already planning for next year, something a little different, bigger and better for all to enjoy......
As for Hutch's on the Beach, its a Cruise i started back in 1994 and ran till 2002 and at that time i handed over to The East Hamilton Optimists, because it is held on City Property, I had to pass it on because of Escalating Insurance costs i just could not afford.
The Beach Cruise at Hutch's will be starting 2nd week in June
