Vintage race & car show, Mosport

I'll be trying to make this one...since I could almost throw a stone at the track from my house...a bit of an exageration but I can hear the cars and see the hills of the track from my house.

I went to a show there a few years back, pretty good venue then, will probably be killer now as they have done TONS of work there since the new owners took over.

I'll be there if we don't go to the cottage. Been to Mosport twice already this year, they certainly are making a lot of changes/improvements to the place.

Doubt I'll bother entering the car show though, I like being able to drive to the different viewing spots (favourite being near the end of the back straight).

This sounds like a good one any one else going.I'm not much for sitting around in a field but if there are vintage race cars involved I am definatly interested.Maybe we will see some of you Sunday. Ed

Just did some reading up on the Varac event. Seems the Sunday car show will also include a "parade lap" of the big track for registered participants of the car show ... that would be fun I think (very slow drive obviously, but fun driving your car on a track with so much history ... Formula 1, CanAm etc with many HUGE names in racing having competed there). They also mention a reduced entry fee on Sunday for those participating in the car show. Friday evening also has some kind of car show thing right on the track at the start/finish line.

Had a good time at Mosport/Canadian Tire Park today (Sat) at the vintage races. Busy tomorrow though, going to Yorkville Exotic Car Show ... they are expecting a Ferrari Enzo and seeing one has been on my "to do" list since they came out.

Mosport was good!! Neat to see the different cars at the show. We got 3 laps on the track !

Three laps on the track sounds neat. I've been around it several times in some really cool cars ... only as a passenger though (my nephew almost puked in a Ferrari 360). I would have really like to do the parade lap thing with my old heap. On my "bucket list" (if you will) was to see a Ferrari Enzo (did that today) and to do some "hot laps" on the "big track" at Mosport driving my own car (yet to happen).

I got your pm regarding the Karbelt show at around 6:00 pm the night of (after Mosport) ... didn't think it was worth my replying due to the show actually starting at 6:00 ... shut the computer off and then thought I should at least reply, turned it back on and (heh heh) can't actually figure out how to reply to a pm. Sorry bout that :)

I had intended to go to a show at Canadian Tire near the Queensway last evening and decided I was too wiped from Mosport and went to the Karbelt deal after all. It was a very good show, plenty of cars.
