Well we had a great time today. Met Attomspliter and Duelquadpete for the first time in person and it was good to put faces with names.Saw and talked to LightspeedMike and the duo from Pontipool Bluechev and Moondoll(MustangSally). That is the best part of this show the people .Lots of cars of all descriptions, rods, customs, muscleand best of all lots of rats.Trucks are really popular here and there were tons of them, all makes and styles. The club was all together for a change and we managed to get club participation.I had a really fun time in the slow drags and the rest of the Ratlers said I should stick to this type of drag race since I didn't have to try and remember to shift and therefore didn't blow up my engine this time.Fatstax got best rat and the unstopable team of Porkchop,Sactou,Grumpy and me won the piston toss game .I guess the success will go to our heads and we will now turn into trophy hogs.Talking about trophies ,the Coasters guys and gals made some of the coolest trophies you have ever seen. All in all it was a great day and the Coasters should be very proud of the show they worked so hard to put on. Everyone I talked to had a great day. Ed

Any idea if that Nash wagon was the one that was for sale years ago at the Barrie flea market. This guy used to bring a Nash wagon on a car hauler to sell for a few years in a row. The year I decided to build a car I tried to track this guy down but learned that he had finally sold it. That's when I decided to build the Dodge. Just wondering if it's the same car.
cool pictures Pete, thanks, any info on the Olds, looks really cool
Sorry, no info on car, no one around it all day. Saw it drive in & thought wow, another fast back, then a 51 Checy fast back rolled in, OK now there a 3 of us here. Think the olds might belong to Host club member, as it was parked near their cars & they were all "very' busy with the show!!!!

Was a very good day, and also very a very busy day. I met Light Speed Mike but missed Dual Quad Pete. He had gone by the time I had some free time. Nice to see lots of cars and pedestrian traffic was very good as well. Much money was raised for the Jump Start Program. Wish I could have went for breakfast with the Ganaraska Rattler gang!!!

No wonder you guys were busy .You had to deal with an overwelming response to what was actually a new show .with the change of venue and and having to deal with sponsers and entrants. It was a very well run event and I understand the Coasters raised a lot of money for the kids .The thing I have always liked about this show is the games and stuff and this was transfered over to the new site ,slow drags, hotwheel races, model car show,it was a fullday .There was no excuse to spend the day sitting behind your car .If you didn't have fun at this show--well you know the rest .All I can say is awsom job Coasters, and thanks from the Ratlers. Ed
TO ALL THAT SHOW UP FROM THIS SITE THANK YOU. IT'S FOLKS LIKE YOU THAT MAKE IT WORTH WHILE. Hope To See You All Again In Roseneath Ont Next Yr. And Don't Forget To Bring The KIDS Their Always Welcome.
I had a great time meeting some of you , I left at 1:15 ish as the lack of shade & me not over this "Q" fever 100% was doing me in!!!! Should have brought an umbrella but didn't know what the layout was going to be. Had a great trip home, took the slow route & enjoyed the ride. I "kinda pounded the Torpedo back" on the way there, & found out it is quicker than I thought. Getting on the 401 at Bowmanville, I "flogged it" off the on ramp, & the P/up truck that was eastbound at ramp doing 75 mph or so, never got by me as I accelerated off the ramp, he caught up at Bennit Rd. & I got a BIG thumbs up I've got 559 mi on it now so time to "make it WORK!!!!
Its a good feeling to let her go and get the response you wanted .The next step Pete is to run her at the Armdrop on the 22nd in Picton.Maybe we can have a run or two ,it really is a lot of fun. ED
I had to miss the show this year, I enjoyed it the last number of years I made it to the old location and I'm glad to hear it was a success in the new spot.
it is a compliment. i mentioned to the folks shooting the breeze with me how much i liked the full wheel discs and skirts. this was as you were leaving.

those are some nice pics pete and as others have said i got to meet a few of the ppl on here and can put a face to the name now aswell. it was an awesome day couldnt ask for any nicer weather. even with the new location the show went off with out a hitch it was awesome good job to the coasters and everyone else involved. hope to see more ppl come out for this stuff. and if i do say so myself i did hear alot of comments on the model display that myself and the other from that crew had on display. even if you cant afford the real thing you can always build it in plastic and its a lot cheaper too. did anyone happen to get any pictures of the display as i didnt but would like to see some if anyone did. way to go to the ratlers for winning the piston toss and for fatstax winning the best rat rod thats cool way to go fats. all in all a vry good turn out and day and again hopefully get to see more ppl out to theses things.
i had a great time that day, winning best rat was fun for sure. too bad it wont be at that site next year, it was a great locale. i missed the slow drags but ed went in to take one for the club and defend our honour.
The Nash isn't the same car spoken of earlier in this thread, i think the one you're thinking of belonged to a couple named Bailey, her name is Arlene I believe? Oddly enough much of the custom work on this questioned car was done by Jim Bailie ( notice spelling differences? ) for Ed and Lynn McLean. Also notice that this car has complete side skins from a 49/50 Mercury grafted in to it, a very time consuming very cool trick.theses folks also own the very radical orange 50 Merc Convertible that you may have seen at some of the big shows with a two piece lift off top and amny, many body mods. Very nice people, very good eye for customs..

Ya, Ed's a "TROOPER" Rob, have to disagree on location. yes it brought in a lot of "walk in's being local BUT on a day like the show day, HOT & Sunny, there was no shade any where, other than if you brought your own!!! & field was quite "bumpy lumpy" hard for walking & driving in & out. Don't get me wrong here,it was a GREAT SHOW & I know host club had to move from previous location, & find a new spot, & did a wonderfull job and look how many vehicles showed up 300+ When you get a little older, & have "bad knee's" you'll know how hard it is to walk on a Lumpy surface" [ I think the furrows were under the grass from the last plowing] If I had known about the field , I would have brought a umbrella or something, heard it will likely move to Roseneath next yr. ??? I enjoyed it, saw lots of cars & trucks, & spoke to a lot of nice, friendly car owners, that I'd never seen before or talked too, it's good to travel "outside" of your area & see some new "stuff'
