ONDR Nostalgia Drags at TMP Sept 8

One day of nostalgia drag racing with a car show going on in the pits. Racing is for 1974 and older cars. Car show is for 1979 and older cars. Car show cars and their drivers get in for free. Hemi super stock shootout too.Also cheap carload pricing.

won't be ready until the 15th. We had the engine rebuilt, put four more 9 second passes on it and had a clearance problem..valve to piston. Pistons are out being cut and new exhaust valves installed. Sorry for the delay. Nobody is more disappointed than us. We just can't afford any more carnage. We'll be at the race with our 36 Ford parts chaser to watch the action.

Sorry to hear about your piston to valve problem John. It sounds like you got away with minimal damage so I guess you can be thankful for that.

Ummmm ... unless you put a bigger stick in there after initial assembly, how did your engine builder miss something as critical as piston-valve clearance (in a race engine)? You aren't blaming weak springs or over revving as the cause so ...

I am basing this on "we had" the engine rebuilt, not "we rebuilt" the engine.
