This event just gets better every year .Lots of cars and this year there was a vintage motorcycle desplay ,Vincents,Triumph,BSA,old Hondas, even a 1948 restored Indian decker. There were vintage tractors and horse pulls. We got to cheer and geer at the hokey but fun wrestling exibition complete with heroes and villans. We got to see dog trials and the grand kids went on the midway rides and I got to eat crappy fall fair food without hearing about it.Talk about an exausting day and of course I got to see all the rods in motion as they were leaving, usually my favorate part sayin see you next time to all the participants. All in all a really good show and a great family day. Ed

breakfast was good and for lunch melton talked me into a brownie bowl because as he said we have to feed the Ferrari. eds pissed at me because i moved the 55 over near the vintage motorcycle. i had brought my 87 Cagiva 650 Alazzurra in the box of the truck and with it backed to the fence nobody would see it and i was hoping for a buyer. did get some requests for my number so maybe. i ended up sitting with melton and his daughter so it made for a great day. but i was getting antsy around 1:30ish and could have left then. this was the 35 aniversary of this show and eds tells me he is the one that started it in 77.

Actually Steve it wasn't just me ,It was my old car club the Crussin Classics,I think there were 6or 8 of us. We got together with the fair board back in 77 and proposed a show at the fair .They said they would try it as long as it didn't cost them anything and we didn't rip up there field. The first year we had 6 club cars and a couple of friends .The following year the fair board gave us a little more space and included us in there broucher, but still no money. We got great support from the other clubs and the show got bigger and bigger and more and more work. The club kida folded in the 80s and Laine(my wife) and I carried on for a few years and we even got the fair board to start sponsering the dash placks. After a while it got to be too much for two people,Trying to get trophy sponcers and door prizes is a huge amount of work, so we told the fair board we were not able to continue and there would be no more shows, they then offered to help because the show was a big draw and made there Sundays successfull. They eventually took over and they have kept it pretty much the same as when it started. This was the 35th one and it ws a big success. Those that run it now are doing a great jub and should be congratulated for there efforts. But its the participants that make it a good show ,everyone comes knowing they are going to have a fun day with lots of stuff to do. Ed

Yes, very good day. Sat with Sacotu most of the day. Daughter and myself checked out the local singing talent in the morning. Weather was awesome.
the "brownie in a bowl" was excellent fuel for the Ferrari's. Gotta feed the machine.
