Whoa - dude!! Very, VERY cool! How much do you figure you have invested in that? (plasma not included) I've seen the PlasmaCam and Torchmate systems and would like to build one for myself. What are you running for software? Looks like a hypertherm plasma - what amperage?
Awesome looking job! I SO want to pick your brain...
I'm digging that in-floor scissor bench too. Great idea

I got tired making brackets on my bandsaw, and needed something a bit faster.
All scratch built at home, and runs on Pentium PC. I made the table in parts so that it would fit in my powdercoat oven, and also so that I could get it upstairs in my shop. It's pretty cool toy !! It's will cut up to 1/2 thick steel

Geez, too bad you live so far away !! (I'm east of Oshawa) I'm using a Hypertherm 45, which is an awesome machine. Using Mach3 for controls, and Plasmacam for the CAM software. This thing runs perfectly, and fairly easy to use. If you want more info, PM me or make the trip out. I always have cold beer in the shop !!
The hoist is another project I did a few years ago. Very handy, and when not in use it hides into the floor. It's great for lifting my car, but makes a perfect workbench for the lawn tractor and such. I made the hoist from scrap steel and used a power unit from a loading dock.

Not too far away in my books! I'd have no issues supplying the beer

I am absolutely loving that inground hoist/jack/work table. Truly genius. I always thought that type of hoist took up too much space/too hard to work around/just not enough room for it in my garage for the limited amount I would actually use one ... hiding it IN the floor is brilliant.

That too was a project ! LOL
I bought a hydraulic power pak at the Barrie flea market that was from a loading dock for $ 150, and built the hoist. This was a few years ago when scissor hoists first came out and cost $2500. Too much money for me !! Total cost for my hoist was $1500 including the concrete for the hole. I have to admit that this is one of the best things I've done to my shop. The metal plate has a 3/8-16 threaded hole right in the middle of it, and I have a 1/2 ton manual hoist directly above on a track that is dedicated to taking the plate on and off. It takes less than 20 seconds to remove. If anyone is interested, I can take close up pictures and start a thread on it.
