ok i found a mint cab and doors online around duluth MN. 500 bucks but wayyyyyy better shape than what im working with. 18 hour drive one way. deal or no deal?
what would a mint cab in this area run you? Factor 36 hours of fuel consumption, food and lodging expenses...or delivery costs to have it shipped...maybe not much of a deal

There is minimal paperwork to bring the vehicle or parts vehicle across the border..I just brought home a vehicle from Iowa last month. Brought my K1 back from Mn few years ago but paperwork has changed a bit. Just call US customs for the information required and be sure that all paperwork is forwarded by seller to US customs you plan to cross 72 hours before you bring the vehicle across the border. Some sellers become overwhelmed by the process, I had a dealer perplexed, gotta wonder how they fill out any paperwork DUH!,,it's 3 pieces of paper they have to fax to US customs and YOU have to fax a copy of your drivers license to the same US Customs border crossing. Make a holiday of the trip,,
Sounds like the start of an adventure to me. Go get it and then come back and tell us all the stories of the cool stuff this guy has and the weird people you met along the way.

i picked up my big truck in bemedji mn.it was a nice drive no problem at the border but spent a pile on fuel.i am not that smart cause i am driving to witchata to pick up my rebuilt flathead. but sometimes just need a road trip
i called canada customs, i spoke with habib ojouwamon, he told since its only a truck cab i would only need the sale reciept for the hst. if it was on a frame then it would be considered a vehicle and then i would have to jump thru more hoops

You don't need a title or ownership or whatever the heck you want to call it to register a out of state/province vehicle in ontario...the information quoted above is all wrong,,no doubt 3rd hand information,,,got info from a friend who knew a guy who..... You are intending to export from the US so it is US Customs you need to talk to,,,all Canada customs wants is their share of the appropriate taxes and fees which depend on where the vehicle was built and a few other variables that can lighten your wallet

Hey Jazz, who pissed in your Cornflakes? I was speaking about MY experience about 7 years ago when I purchased a 1949 Chevy truck and brought it back into Canada. Fatstax is not bringing in a complete vehicle to license for the road in Ontario but the experience can be very easy or a pain in the ass if you don't do your homework. Mine stated out to be a pain in the ass because the US boarder idiot said he couldn't find the copy of the ownership that I had faxed them to do a title search more than 72 hours prior to my bringing it across into Ontario. Luck for me this was at a shift change and after a 2 hour wait the next person found my information right away as all my paperwork was in order. I was told by the first guy that I was "screwed because I didn't follow the procedure"! Search out the internet stories from actual people that ran into this problem (and much worse) like not being able to cross the boarder because the car had a lien or the seller lied to you and the ownernship was never in his name. On the Canadian side the woman asked if I had any issues and after explaining what happened she had a few very sad stories about other peoples experiences. She told me that the only other way some people can get the vehicle into Canada was to register it as scrap which voids the original ownership and the VIN is updated in their computer so that VIN can never be registered for the road in Canada. All I was saying, to help, was check the rules so he didn't get held up. Hey, maybe things have changed or the officals at the boarder were lieing to me? Thats why I gave very general comments, not facts and suggested the rules be researched.

you still have to export the vehicle from the US before you head over to Canadian customs. have done this before. canada only want the revenue and proper forms filled out.

i know that, im just saying if you are leaving the us of a with normal stuff like used parts and booze, you deal with canada customs. i know about vehicle exporting stuff, my buddy brings southern cars back all the time.

Duluth ????. sounds like a place where they say stuff like , ya,ll aint from round here is ya boy ??? . on crossing border , bought a 74 amc hornet hatch back body , no motor trans interior , or frt suspension , on my car trailer , paid 500 for it had a owny ship an written bill of sale , picked it up west of allentown pa , last spring , drove across american border no problems . Canajun bnorder , 45 mins of b s and 17 bucks tax , towed it home . Was easy ..77.

if you look at the front of the firewall the later model has a lip around the edge the early model doesn't. also the later model as a X on each side for rigidity while the 39-40 has 2 verticle bars
a new twist has developed, 41 chev cab in peterborough, arizona native, mint mint mint, 800. i would imagine i will spend alot more than 800 in total including the price of the cab going to minn not even including my time and driving but i will lose the deposit i gave the guy. what do i do?
went and bought cab. cab is arizona fresh, almost mint. people in minn refunded most of my deposit which was nice of them. major work is now cut out of the rat truck build. picking up cab on saturday, pics to follow. cab even has some bullet holes, does it get any better than this?
