I know that this is not a hotrod what so ever but I want to hear your thoughts. I'm looking for a winter beater and I found a 1990 4.0 with 340000 and the body actually looks clean. The thing is that its been sitting since may 2011. The break pedal goes to the floor so the brakes are shot and obviously a battery and fluids. But he wants $250 for it and I figure if I can get it running it'll be a decent winter beater. I'm going to look tomorrow evening, I'm gonna check to see if the motor still turns. Also do you think 250 is under scrap value for this, and is it worth my effort.
At 240K, I would think everything is well worn. You may want to check the front end pretty good etc
Its actually 340. But my father would have a heart attack if I bought any car without checking the front end as he's a mechanic but lives 2 hours away.
Well I bought this jeep for $225 and I put a battery from my s10 in, drained the old gas, did an oil change and it runs alright. Maybe in need of a bit of a tune up but hey it hasn't ran since may 2011. It is completely solid except for the bottom of the drivers door but the rocker is untouched. I'm quite happy with my deal for $225 off kijiji.
