I've used a stripper from Car Quest a gel (can't remember brand) worked great on my Monte carlo and Chevelle spread with applicator wait and scrape off

Paint strippers are too messy. I always sand or grind the paint off. I used to use a stripper years ago called Cromac. It would remove paint 5 layers thick. The problem today is that most of the products you'll find are "environmental", and the active ingredient(Methylene Chloride) is not used. There are a few brands still using methylene chloride, so check the label, but they won't be as powerfull as the old stuff.

Years ago I bought this stuff from the jobbers, but I guess you'll have to buy direct from them. It's great stuff !! Trust me !!

I hired a "stripper' from the local HOTEL but turned out she didn't do "THAT" kind of stripping!! Hard to get good help these days!!!!!!

Circa stripper for wood the gel type. Available from Home Hardware. We have used it and it works great. But and there is always one but you have to ensure your work surface is absolutley clean when you are done or you will have problems down the road. Mechanical removal is always better. That way there is no worry of chemical contamination that will react with your primer an paint down the road.

I am not sure who or where close to us you can find a media blaster but I would seriously consider having it media blasted..Strippers are a horrible mess to work with unless you can do it outside with lots of water to wash it off with a pressure washer..I did one with paint stripper ..never again..way to much work and mess..about 5 years ago I had one media blasted in London by a place called NASCO on Adelaide St in London but I am not sure they are still in business..the guys name was Brian Bisset 519-432-8346 it does a great job all the mess in somebody elses shop comes back nice and clean and it's nice to get right to work..they did all the under body frame and supension it was well worth the money..I know there are places around that do it ..I think it's worth considering..good Luck

I prefer "clothing" strippers myself...

the paint & coating removal discs shown by Pint & Pound do work well. You can get them in a 4-1/2" dia. size for angle grinders, though they are not cheap and wear down somewhat quickly.

I'm not fond of chemical stripping myself (same reasons as other posters)

This past summer I used a fellow in Mount Brydges who blasted my Maverick using plastic media. I had him spray epoxy primer when he was finished.

I was very pleased with his work, his pricing and the time he took to complete the job. Might be worth a call.
