There was an article in the local newspaper about a guy who bought one. Had been driving for years, clean record. Ever since he got that car the cops pulled him over all the time. It looks like a cop car, duh, that's what it was. Impersonating a cop is a crime.

Carl, Gary is in Niagara Falls [slowly I turned, step by step] sorry that comes to mind every time I here that cities name!! I don't think he wants a Blk. & white but will let him know. The all grey RCMP Merc he has now is coming to an end "body wise" but still runs well & he said he has someone who wants the engine & trans out of it [Intercepter Pkg???] He really liked darrens car & if there had been a ph# when add was re-posted it likely would have been his a week before it sold I'll try to pass the gov site to him after i have a look see. That disclaimer would send me away, but it may also be their standard CYA in case the motor shreds right after you buy it.
Generally, I wouldn't have an issue buying an ex-cop car even though they are driven hard. They receive excellent service while in the fleet. Ambulances are another vehicle I'd consider for a work truck (either lose the box and convert to a flat deck or use as a cube van)

Nope, he liked the one one here that sold. But nothing yet no PANIC he says. Just read that add above & it just turned me right off that place, wouldn't even tell Gary about that, as he wouldn't want to get it towed to Niagara Falls. Sounds like he's going to get the winter out of the RCMP Merc. before retiring it!!

Ya but he can't afford my rates, wants me to do everything for FREE!! So will these dealers certify the car for you "at your expense" or are they all "as is where is" & you take your chances?? You could end up with another $5000 to certify it!!!! Oh ya & the dreaded E-Test that Carl doesn't have to worry about!!! With the "new" testing coming out I can see all of the Prov. having to comply as the shops don't need the Dyno anymore & won't cost the garages as much to join up?? We had a couple of places in Port Perry but at last count there was only one that still has the Dyno, others coudn't make a go of it & returned the equipment

I then take to trusted friends, who have civilized mechanics...

e.g I have never used/tried/ or paid for emerg. cables...

I'm used to the "as is" term but never thought of all the other stuff they have written there, just looks worse than it is after you read it, basicly says it's AS IS" could have left all the other crap OFF!!!
