I noticed "Malcom Durham" in there, one of the first very competive "black/coloured" Drag racers.

Sadly a number of those greats are not with us anymore.

Notice the paint jobs of that era, Nice one is the Berejik Olds, think that was done by spraying over lace?

The painters here should be able to verify.

great pic's for sure. i noticed that it was mostly mopar then chevy then a few fords and 1 amc. that would probably be different in different area's. again, great pic's.

Carl, do you have more info on those pics?

As I was browsing through your posted pics, I couldn't help but notice the Henry J, behind the Alpine 'vette.

That Henry J sure looks like a good friend of mines, a ONDR member, the car has a great story behind it. Used to be his uncles car...

Here it is today, (a couple years ago), at Pinks All Out, in Norwalk Ohio, the owner and the Pinks' crew doing a bit of "feature" on it.

Have a look at the script under the rear window.

Do you have any more photos of the blue Mustang in the background of this photo?

It says "Fastbacks" down the side of the car.

Haha...Not good eyes just familiar with the car.

The "Fastbacks" were a group of Ford engineers who formed a club to go drag racing in their spare time. Jack Roush was a member when he worked at Ford from 1965-1970.
I work for Mr. Roush's museum, the Roush Automotive Collection in Livonia, Michigan. A friend sent me a link to this thread. I just happened to notice the car. 

I'm currently working on a display on the Fastbacks. Photos of them are not easy to come by. Carl, if you'd be willing to look through your photos to see if you have any more it'd mean a lot.
BTW, here's probably the best photo we have of the '69 SS/HA Mustang:
