this is whats got me for this winter. keeps me at home out of trouble. funny how that works.

1967 galaxie 500 xl vert. one owner garage kept from colorada. only 2 rust holes, one behind each rear wheel about 6"x4". typical vert problem. the old lad that owned it drove touchy-feely for the last bit, scratches-dents, but none creased. shows 81000mi on it. runs like a top. wink

update-
i called 5 or 6 places and have decided on jim's polishing & buffing in scarborough. i chose them primarily due to their ability to answer my questions with confidence and plainly. they have been doing this for 35 plus yrs and i talked to the owners grandson, james. i kinda liked that aspect in today's world. i was upfront saying i knew nothing of the process and was just shopping around. some of the calls i felt i was being hustled and some you couldn't understand the answers on a couple of levels. price took a couple out of the picture and one wouldn't answer up front on whether they did it in house start to finish. quoted price was 700.00 to 900.00 per depending on condition. they are going up on thursday with my toronto truck. approx 4 wks wait time which i thought long but the proof will be in the pudding.
x-being a one yr only item sure limits your choices. i had a hard time just finding good blanks to send in for chrome. with that note, i have a 67 galaxie front blank suitable for chrome i would part with. the guy had 2 of them for the price of one.
the back one was suitable for a driver but would be out of place with a new one on the front. it goes now to.

lol just caught this carl. maybe 30 yrs ago i might of considered it. no i have promised myself this is staying as close to stock as possible. something for the other half to keep her happy and out of the hemi coronet and 572 chevelle while its still a big block, of sorts. lol

its in the body shop for a massage to get the wrinkle's and dents out and painted. the right front fender that was bowed has been replaced with a nice one from little rock and it made a big difference. cleaned the interior up and it shines now. whats rapidly turning into the holy graille of this project is the steering wheel. i was quoted 16 to 1800.00 to refurbish with no guarantee. nope.
