Hi guys and gals I have never been to the detroit auto show and thought I might make the trip this weekend and was wonder what the pro's and con's are, thanks in advance.
Both show are great - this weekend is new cars and March 8, 9 & 10 is classic cars. Ride the tunnel bus from Windsor right to the front door at Cobo Hall.
If you are going, take a drive by the old abandoned Packard factory - Its huge...if you go in, go in a group of 10 or more and maybe a couple of rottweilers though...photographers get get mugged there for their gear. American automotive history fading away

OOOOOhhhh !! Urban exploration !! My second love ! I started doing it too late in life, now I'm just too chicken !! I think we had a topic on this a while back.
I agree, forget the new car show and do the Autorama. I am hitting the road at 6am on Friday with some buddies and being there at noon when it opens. Best day in my opinion, way less people and no kids during day. My buddy Woody will have his 61 Ford unibody in the show. Dont miss the huge toy and auto collectibles section.
FYI, you cant buy much in tools or parts but most vendors will bring you orders that you've done ahead of time. Woodward Fab is always one of my favorites, they have show specials too!
We have 55 people on the bus from Niagara to the Autorama in march, absolute great time. Paul, from Wheel Class in Fonthill organizes the trip, just the cost of the bus divided by the riders...........better than driving and paying gas and parking. we'll be there Saturday, Mar 9 from 10 am until 5 pm.................and still not see all the show.................but we may find time for a beer garden or two..............
