I will be selling this 454 as soon as I get it back from the engine shop since the car it was going to go into was sold. I was looking for a reliable, 500hp, on pump gas that you could drive anywhere, and this combo should do it on pump gas. Motor is being built by Wright Racing engines.
454+40 over, Mark IV block, 2 bolt mains
Stock cast crank ground 10/10, stock balancer
Heavy duty truck rods with ARP bolts
Forged Speed Pro pistons - 9.2:1 calculated compression with the closed chamber heads
Sealed Power Moly rings
Early closed chamber, large oval port heads, ported nicely, and 2.19, 1.88 valves, stainless valves, double springs, hardend machined locks and moly retainers
Stainless steel full roller rockers, 1.7 ratio
Isky 280 megacam, .565 lift, 235@50, 108 LCA IIRC
Melling High volume/high pressure oil pump, 7 quart oil pan
Edelbrock Victor Jr intake
Old cal custom style cast aluminum valve covers
$4200 outright, which is pretty much exactly what I will have in it. Its all being machined right now, and will be assembled in a week or two. Old Bill at Wrights moves slow, but builds good engines.
I bought it as a bare block, and never checked the date or any of the codes. Its originally an orange painted block, so its 1976 or earlier. I should check the codes and see what it originally came out of. I will check the next time I am up there.
