4130 chromoly tubing

Anyone know a dealer around the GTA that carries 4130 chromoly tubing for building a dragster chassis?

I have called a few places that say they can get it....but don't stock it.

No one stocks it !! This is Canada don't you know !! LOL
I can give you my contact, but all he's going to do is order it also. He's a good guy to know, because he will do all the mandrel bends for you. Real nice work !! He lives in Oshawa, but his shop is in the west end. What size and how much do you need? Your other option is Metals plus in Oshawa, but you'll pay twice what it's worth. If you want his name and number, I can PM it to you.

I have talked to Metals Plus and they have to order..
Don't need much. Doing modifications to the dragster I bought in the Fall.
No bends needed.

 Ya, water pipe is good on my bush buggy.....blankstare

Got to match up whats already on the dragster now. Don't want it to look like Frankenstein...furious

Oh wait!!! Maybe I can whittle a couple of pieces out of cherry wood and "Red-Green" them to the chassis....confuse

You will still have to order the cherry wood, AND get a permit!confuse Chromo would be cheaper and faster. lol

I remebered last night that Aircraft Spruce has smaller diameters of 4130 in stock. I've never been there, but I think they are in brantford. They sell lots of unique aircraft related things, but very usefull for us that like to tinker.

not surprised - they never have what I'm looking for. I prefer Golden Triangle Specialty Metals in Cambridge...not exactly GTA though

 Out here we have Metals plus and Ability metals. They are handy for small pieces, but for full lengths they are way over priced.

I bought a piece of 1 1/2 dia X 10" 4140, and a piece of 3/4dia X5' 303 Stainless yesterday and it cost me $60. Not cheap !!

recently talked to some one who builds airplanes and he goes down to pa to get it at a huge price difference well worth the trip he said all the guy sells is moly has a building full of it   i could attemp to track guy down and get address if any one is looking to make the trip
