Very nice, should get a lot of smiles N' miles out of that one. Nothing wrong with the 350/350 combo, it's proven itself over and over. I have the same set up sitting the wings for my 29 roadster. Want something that feels and acts like a modern day set up so my wife, daughters, and their husbands can drive it without being a handful and quirky. I work at a restoration shop and get to see some pretty nice stuff, you don't have to take a back seat to nobody. Your turning out a beautiful example...be proud.

The build started out with the 28 in my avitar, it was a amateur restoration, running, driving car, with the previuos owner claiming to have put about a 1000 miles a year on it. I knew the car had some issues when I bought it [such as the rear fender wells] but it was such a good body and the car was complete as far as garnish mouldings etc. I was able to sell the complete running gear, chassis, and wheels as a package before I ripped the car apart.
The car now has a new Horton chassis, 350/350 [ya I know], filled roof, recessed firewall, new rear wheel tubs, custom metal dash, 32 style gas tank, 32 style tail lights, all new metal floor. The car has now got new paint and is in the re-assembly stage.
Thanks very much for the kind words Sniper! My last 28 was a Sedan Delivery with a 5.0L Mustang and a 5 speed standard, great combination! Was one of those cars that you wish you never sold. Actually traded the Delivery for a 46 Chev Fleetline [plus cash] which I sold last year after driving it for about 10 years.
Dont care if god himself sold it . ......copyed from magnums catalog
’28-’48 I-Beam Axles Magnum's 4" & 5" dropped I-Beam axles feature a one piece design of ductile iron and will accept '37-'48 Ford or Magnum spindles. Four widths are available to fit '28-'48 Fords. Specify 2" or 2 1/4" axle boss when ordering. I-Beam Axles are available plain or chrome. Note that recessed areas of chromed axles are not polished.
Ductile iron is not forged steel in no shape and form and only a fool would consider putting one on there car . I dont realy give a rats ass if you kill yourself but when you put my friends and family in danger it becomes pesonal. Thats half the problem supposably reputabule dealers sell this crap and most buyers take there word.
supper bell falls in the same C catagory from ther web site

Hey Rochie, thanks for the kind words! Your roadster is killer! Love it! Is that a bug screen on your rad, if so, what did you use? If not, I will get my eyes checked.
Slim, this 28 is not my first kick at the can, I appreciate your concern for your family, but there are far more things for you to worry about on the road, than whether I have a cast or forged axle!! Please have a look at the daily drivers that are all around you as you take your family where ever! Stuff breaks no matter if it is a just off the lot 2013, or cobbled together 28 with an axle. Maybe you think I should call up Lucky Seven and see what they have to offer, those products are what you should be worried about!! Please forgive me if I sound a little ticked, I have far more important things to deal right now, I don't need the attitude! Bruce
Bruce, I used stainless woven mesh. I built a plywood buck the shape of the shell opening and rounded the edges. I wanted the mesh to stand out from the opening about 3/8ths of an inch
Thanks Glenn, after seeing some of your work, I am honoured by your comments! After choosing that colour, I was curious to see how it would be received, so far so good. Once I buy the steelies with caps and rings, the colour should come alive. I probably paid a lot more than most would have for car at the outset, but in the long run, I saved a lot of work and aggravation.
Thanks Ron! Your coupe is not too shabby either!! I hope to have mine on the road beginning of June, just have to put the hood shelves, hood, and the running boards on to complete the body. I will be picking up the new windshield [complete with new glass installed] this weekend. Still have to order the wheels, caps, and trim rings. Then, after we check that everything is tightened up, we can find out if everything works the way it is supposed to. Are you using the original gas tank Ron, or did you just leave the filler neck as I did. I used the '32 style tank on mine.
Nice job Bruce! The plan is to start mine up this weekend. I'm down in Stroud quite a bit and will be on the lookout for yours this summer. I lived down there until i retired, now I'm up in the Great White North.

Your car looks great Sherwood, I look forward to meeting up with you, let me know when you will be down this way. I am right in town, Timmies is within walking distance.
Hey Gary, you don't know the half of it, I've done everything at least three times! Maybe we should have a competition to see who gets on the road first! I know you are not having any issues putting your '61 back together, right? Everything fits just like it did when you took it apart, right?
I'm having a few issues!!!!! I think the biggest problem is I didn't take photos (damn) and now I'm trying to remember what order things go back together.
Gary, you should have had Dave D. over there doing the picture taking while you wrenched! You ask him about absolutely any part on his '35 he has a detailed picture of it! I only wish I had the patience to do that.
Appreciate the comment Mike, hopefully on the road in a month or so. This is my third one over the last 25 years, I seem to go from Model A, to a fat fender, to a Model A, to a fat fender, to a Model A. I keep saying this will be my last complete build, I prefer driving them!
