Bought a package deal of Great books,

"Grumpy's Toys" The authorized History of Grumpy Jenkins.

"Junior Stock" Drag Racing the family sedan.    Both books by Doug Boyce from Cambridge

"The Dawn of Pro Stock" By Steve Reyes.

Highly recommended reading for anyone interested in drag racing.

(Jenkins states of all the cars he built and ran, the 68 Camero was his favourite. -He had $8000.00 in the car and it made him $150,000.00. )

That was BIG dollars back then!!

Great reading for anyone that was there, lot of cars there you will reconize, Quality Photography.!

Interesting bit in the book about Grump's little 331 cu inch car running the big guys.

Think the car had 5:57 gears, and was a .060 over 327.

Great innovator that came up with quite a few firsts, that are still used today.

Must have been a decent boss, as a few of his employees where with him for quite a few years.

Hey, thanks for the kind words Sasquatch :)
The books were a lot of fun to do, talking to the guys we use to read about in the magazine. They were my heroes growing up. Especially the Grump. He wasn't as Grumpy as believed and proved very receptive to the book idea. Spending time conversing with him down at Jenkins Competition left a lasting impression. It was a year ago yesterday that he died.

Thanks Doug, sure enjoying the books, they are causing a number of LATE nights!! Lol

You are very fortunate to have been able to actually sit and talk with Jenkins, sad to see he is now gone.

Excellent quality books, very impressed with the pics and text.

Any updates on the next one in the plans?

Harry, i bet a few others were told that also!! Lol

Poor guys , must have been tiring thrashing to get in another run, and crowds of people in too close .

Thanks for the pic, the man has sure changed and aged.

The knowledge stored in his brain must have been incredible.
