Thats another reason out of state venders do not bring goods to shows, Syracuse is one of the places, they showcase their products.

Ladies and Gentlemen, that's your tax dollars at work! You pay to get ripped off...Really? and how and where do they plan on doing this?
I personally sale tons of stuff, all year round, I buy anything I think is a great deal, just because I like to pass it down to someone that wants it or needs it. And believe me, I do not do it for profit! Sometimes I even lose a few $, but it goes to someone that needs it or wants it, and I believe in a good deed.

Why are these people we are paying, making life so difficult?

I was a professional antique dealer for a few years and all stock had to be inventoried. Pawn shops do it so they would just require each dealer to have a tax # with them at all shows. It would be simple no tax # no sale with out a fine. It s a liberal government they dont care if they make stupid laws as long as they make $. We had the tax guys come into the Antique market to check inventory books and tax # for each booth would work the same at a flea market. You would be required to keep a inventory and a bought and sold Leger. The next time you go to a auction look for the guys with the note pads recording all there purchases more than likely they are keeping records.

Its funny that there is all this money for gov. employes to do this type of work and for the MOE,and other stupid departments but there is no money to inforce deportation orders on thousands of criminals from other countries living here illeagly. Ed

They hit Ebay back a couple years ago or so. If you sell more than 11 items in a calender year, or over $1000. in the same period your considered a business and are to declare it as income etc. I don't know if they have changed any of the requirements since, or if it's still the same deal. I'm not sure if it was the Fed or Provincial that came up with it. Ebay sent out a notice to any sellers at the time and said they were cooperating with the government.

Just recieved an e mail from ebay recently that the goverment wants to start that e bay collect the taxes right off the top of sales. They are asking for ebay user's to sign a petition agaimst it

Also it is a law that a houshold can only have 2 yard sales a year.

Hey Pint, I went looking through the Ebay archived notices but didn't find the one I mentioned. But if you Google the topic, there are a whole whack of posts about it. Once the government won the court case against Ebay, Ebay is forced to surrender name and addresses of sellers that go over the set limits.

When you hear the basterds and I mean the lot of em using terms like "Im not against looking at new (tax ) tools" you can figure they are hooked like crack heads and will stop at nothing for more. They wont be happy till we are all living in mud huts, then they will dream up a mud tax.

One More thing to be very carefull about on e-bay If you are a canadian Buyer watch very carefull BEFORE YOU BID they have set up a new program for International buyers and everything will be shipped by a new company set up by E-bay Called Global Shipping which is another company that now will collect duties and fees before your order is shipped.. A lot of sellers are unaware of it even showing up on their sites when selling..So be carefull that you check and check  twice before you bid or you just might be in for a surprize..I know I was ..I had an issue that took almost 4 months to resolve and I got about 60% of my money back..I will not buy or bid on anything till I have checked with the seller now..You can probably Google e-bay and global shipping for more info..But it is a real royal pain in the ass..so consider yourself warned..Governments are running out of ways to collect revenue so you best keep your wallet in vest pocket and let them know your pissed off..we all have access to our MPP..it don't take much to fire off an e-mail..you can find all their addys on line and e-mail them to-death, till they understand we are pissed and were are not gonna take it any more.. it's time to start pushing back..enough is enough..I know if I don't have the money to buy stuff for my car, I have to wait, I just can't add a surcharge tax to my customers..take heed and be carefull on e-bay..Global shipping can spoil your day...

Food tax is not a straight forward 13%...so yes, that does make sense.
