its the old way to turbo or supercharge a carburated engine. you enclose the carb in a sealed box so to pressurize the atmosphere around as well as inside the carb, it works well im told. a carb can be prepped to be what they call a blow through, but that box is an easier way
I think paxton and vortech still make those. They are kind of a pain to run, because any time you want to change the carb, everything has to come all apart to access it.
Seems like the alum 1s were 60 so. Like 1 pictured. If it were shelby. Would say shelby..or cobra. Would say cobra. Also made them for the baby birds. And Studebaker...
