Looking for a foot in the door

I have been dreaming and drooling over vintage and classic cars and hot rods my whole life, and all the while saying some day...well i would like that someday to be sooner rather than later.  However, in the last year i have bought my first house, and welcomed my first child into the world, so needless to say time and money dont come around here too often!!

So what I am looking for is maybe some dudes that have a place, and projects on the go that I could maybe come hang out and learn with(mostly on the weekends).  I have always been interested in mechanics as my dad use to race dirt and ice tracks up in Kenora, and has spent his life being a marine tech and tinkerer.  I would like to think that some of those skills or traits rubbed off.  I just wish i spent more time with him learning about motors and stuff when I was younger, but as it stands, I know very little (enough to be dangerous) about cars but would love to learn more..and one day soon...build my first car (rat rod pick up!!).  I build custom alternative homes, so I am good with my hands, and can problem solve fairly well, and have had some welding experience back in high school and a night class in college.   I am a quick learner, and hard worker, and love having a good time.

If there is anyone interested in helping out this rod rookie, with literally ANYTHING....time, parts, tools, equip, knowledge, patience, etc...I will be greatly indebted to you, and will try to repay you in some way or another!

I'm located just west of Ennismore Ont, north of Fowlers Corners.

Or if someone is hiring a shop labourer, I would be totally up for that too!!!!  Let me know!

Cheers, and thanks for reading!

Chance

hope you find some one in your area. Keep a eye out for a cheep entry level car. My California Valiant was $1,000 its a 4 door but was drivable as it was bought. Great family cruiser. Its just as much fun as my 47 Ford was.
