I just saw an interesting master cylinder conversion for old chevs with the master under your feet. It uses the master that is on the car and they mount a new master behind it and have the push rod run through everything.
I was trying to decide if I make one or buy one until I saw this. It solves the hard part of making one.
Has anyone made one of these?
When I get the master out I will decide which route to go, I can use it as a template for the pivot location and use a factory push rod or do something like this.
I just took the master cylinder out of the car. I had not really looked at it. Its not the kind in the picture with the conversion done but does hold the clutch and brake pedals.
I'm gonna think about what to do with it.

Id give them a call the kit may require you to use your old master minus the guts and they supply new master/bracket/ longer plunger. come to think of it the only advantage to the kit is keeping the original pedal location . supplying the part you already have and only need to remove the guts isn't cost effective
*** went back and looked again at kit and your screwed - just as well mention something about core , return PITA speedway has something but I think its a streetrod thing and doesn't accommodate clutch and is disk/disk or drum/disk if your sticking with the drum setup its more then likely as easy to rebuild or replace your original and make sure your emergence brake works for backup or just bite the bullet and modify . lots of universal setups on speedway site to look over

I have the master at work and just picked up the master that is going in the car(70 mustang 4 wheel drum). I never had any intention of sending it out to be modified. I may just make a new mount for it. Its an easy swap to go with a different master once this one fits.
The parking brake works now, had an adventure with that. There is a wrong part somewhere on both sides. Had to modify the levers on the shoes. Rod that goes on the lever was around 1/4" too short.
I started making the master cylinder/ pedal mount. I have it test fitted in the car. I need to make a tweak in the actual height of the master in relation to the pedal. The sweep on the pushrod goes too low. I used the stock pushrod that came with the master and that was how I decided how far back to put it.
I have the mount finished. Just need to plumb brake lines. Have new wheel cylinders and flex lines. The adjustable proportioning valve is likely not needed with the 4 wheel drums but its there if I upgrade. Trying to decide how to run the lines. Might move the rear flex line to the driver side of the rear axle. Trying to keep the lines off the tranny crossmember.
Looks great . You should be able to run the line where ever you want to as long as you have the clearance and the flex line is long enough for the suspension travel
