need to reglue my truck headliner and was wondering if there are good/bad glues . 3m 77 comes up on the net but some like it some don't ...as does permatex super that crappy tire sells.

Call an upholstery shop and ask them. I've used numerous brands and never had any luck with any of them. The last one i did was a formed foam one, cleaned off everything right down to bare foam and still the fabric fell down, i even used brand new fabric too.
Glue won't hold. The foam under the headliner has dried out. The headliner has to come out and be redone.
At least any one I have ever seen or heard of.

Exactly what has happened to mine. Took the cardboard/foam liner out and redid the fabic with 3M 77. Lasted for a week and a half, just the wind from having the window down knocked it loose and it all started to let go again. Pulled everything out the second time and redid it with the Canadian Tire spray glue, (grey and red spray can) and it wouldn't stick hardly at all. Going for one more shot at it. Will remove all the old foam down to the cardboard liner and spray it with the tan coloured rock guard and go with the textured look. It's a crewcab work truck so it's not as critical. I let you know how it works out when I try it.
Mine fell down about 2 years ago. Got skinny stips of wood and screwed then to the headliner. Looked just ok but kept it up tight. Sold it like that too. Not pretty but works....my 2 cents
