I had to add DRLs to my '95 Bronco when I imported it. It was a wire-in module that I bought right from the Ford dealer.

I have a buddy who has been working in the US and he bought a 2013 f150 for work,he has been transferred back here to the land of ice and snow and needs to hook up the daylite running lights for the inspection here. I had to do this a bunch of times at my old shop before ctc got the whole canadian account anyway I had to purchase a module  from the dealer,a simple plug and play but it don't matter where I look on the web I can't find any info.I'm thinking a scanner might have a way of turning them on throught the ecm?I will call the dealer in the morning but I thought maybe someone here has run into this.

Randy, when I bought my 06 Dodge, I bought a modul at CTC, and hooked them up to my driving/fog lites. Found out later that if you take truck to dealership, they can do it in the computer.

Randy,
The f150 site seams to have conflicting info, one says install the plug in module and resistor and your good to go, others say you need to reprogram the ECM. Does this truck have HID headlights, reducing the voltage to 70% might be a concern. This might help http://www.fordf150.net/howto/drl.php

I tend to believe it would be plug and play with the harness. I never would of guessed it would  be two parts in two different locations . I wonder if plugging in a resistor  can be considered reprogramming your ECM.

I think these are bright signal lights rather than headlights but I checked the f150 site and some guys are trying to take short cuts with diodes and such not something I will do.

Randy..The DRLs on this truck are controlled by what they call a SJB (smart junction Box) or a generic electronic control module..You will need to turn these on by taking it the dealer and they can turn them on.. The SJB supplies a pulse-width modulated voltage to turn on the low beams at reduced intensity..I can't even get in to do that with my Scan tool ..I would not try any micky-mousing on them..you could end up frying the GEM..

Dodges just had to have the "country" code set to Canada to enable the DRL.

Thanks guys I called ctc today they said it was a module that plugs in,they sell it for 50 bucks and install was 180. They weren't interested in selling it to me so I could install it myself so I'm thinking its a way of getting me in and they will do whatever???
