eastwood mig welder with spool gun

ok just bought a 175 amp mig off of the bay comes with the spool gun for aluminum, shipped to my factory for 571 canadian.  havent used it yet but looks like a decent unit, even if the welder dies down the road it has an esab style fitting so the spool gun which is like 400 to buy here will work on another machine.

feel free to jump in and tell me how crappy it is and stuff, like i care

Let us know how it turns out. The Eastwood stuff is really priced well (even here in Canada) and seems to have a good reputation. I know the typical Chinese welders get a lot of flack from the red & blue guys but not everyone can afford the big name brands. Good luck.

Rob,, now you can help out by welding up those aluminum "MOPAR" parts that keep breaking.

That might have been a thread I started quite a while back. I was inquiring about the reputation of Eastwoods welding and cutting equipment. I ended up buying their AC/DC Tig 200 and Versa Cut Plasma cutter with a cart in a combo deal they had at the time - $1195.00 U.S.,if I remember correctly I think my cost was around $1275.00 on our side of the border, but I went to pick it up from Hawkes myself, and they even had it in stock! He even threw in an LED flashlight and a couple of hats and offer to feed me lunch!

Can't remember just where now, (to early for an old brain, ) but on a build forum awhile back there was quite a discussion about these welders, with a lot of favourable comments by a number of guys who are using them.

Way to go Rob, it's crappy and all that stuff.. I'll just pop over and help you out with it, trade you the "original" face remover back then I have an aluminum machine set up all the time too... How bout it? LOL. I bet that it turns out to be a great little welder man, Eastwood stuff is generally very good quality, been buying stuff from them since the early eighties...hows the rat truck doing anyway?
Chris.

I bought the same unit over a year ago. I,ve been welding steel and aluminum for 40 yeas and this welder works great for both. It works just as well as my industrial miller at work. A coworker even borrows it to do aluminum repairs on transport trailers

Hey fatstax, just wondering if you've had a chance to use that Eastwood welder yet? I'm very close to buying the same one... I met Wayne from Hoppys Auto Restoration here in Lindsay and he's an Eastwood dealer... even has one in stock! Just curious on your opinion... from everything I've heard and read people seem very happy with it... Thanks!

This is the "For Sale" section so are your selling it or just bragging you finally got one? LOL confuse

If you've used it already lets see some pictures of your handywork or we may just assume it never happened.....
