Holy S#!+, are they all ok?, I couldn't see anyone around the vehicle, aside from the rear passenger door being open.
You got insurance? They sure can't dismiss that claim, with video and witnesses seeing the flames.
That really sucks, I just got through one of those, I really hope things work out for you.

Crappy news!

Not that you'd want it to be saved or anything after that much smoke, but closing that rear door may have suffocated the interior portion of the fire and cut down on an explosion risk. I wouldn't expect the civilians to react under that kind of stress and trauma, but the cops and certainly the fire department know that the open door will feed oxygen to the fire. Of course if the windows were open, the point is mute - hard to tell in the vids. Glad everyone is OK though....and you're getting a new ride!(bright side)

When no personal injury or loss of irreplaceable belongings results I believe the grace period is 15 to 20 mins. Nothing eases a bad situation quite like a little levity!!!

Glad everyone is ok! For some reason I could not videographer video.

whos list? can't find it. my mechanic said the drivetrain in these is well proven bullet proof. the 2.2 is very economical. all consumables ie brakes are cheap to replace. only downside i've found is the door handle is cheap and will break easily. and its an automatic.

I drove one of the HHR's. It couldn't get out of it's own way.
Quite a difference from the big GMC down to the HHR.

i bought one in 2006 with the 2.4 and it has been great only issue ive had is a leak above the heater motor due to a cheap plastic cover below the windshield that lets rain water get into the heater box inside the car. other wise its been a great car.
