So far I have the engine/ trany sitting on the frame with the Buick frame mounts but it is too high in the front so once I get it to where it should be I will pull it out and clean the frame and engine etc.
I removed the body and found more damage to the frame. It took a hit front and back. I am going to try and straighten the frame at home, it not I may use the frame from the 53. Any hints for home straightening the frame, Henry
If it were me Id check to see if it is squaire from the # 3 crossmember forward if it is you would be better off just fabbing a new section for the rear of it . even pulled out on a frame straightner it will look like a patch job. If one rail wasnt afected you could use it as a template for the bad side. weld it back in box and gusset it to the 3rd crossmember .
Thanks slim for the pic. I started to remove the front suspension and found it has a big crack on the Dr's side so I will use the frame off the 53, I hope it is better. The 51 frame will be a gasser frame for the 53.
We got the frames moved around and the 53 frame is in the garage getting fitted with the engine etc. The 51 frame is under the 53 waiting it's turn for???
