John..sorry to hear about your deal....I personally never had dealings with the guy but have heard both good and bad about the shop..we were going to order a glass clip for my daughters Monza when all I heard was bad about the place..so, we went elsewhere... I then heard a few months later a couple of good things , and lately nothing but bad...all regarding the same thing you are going through.......best of luck to you......Ed I believe there was and that's what stopped us fron dealing with him

To all, I reside in Oregon USA and attempted to purchase fiberglass parts from Show cars in London. After I prepaid for the parts and frt. a partial order was sent frt collect. I had no choice but to pay yet again the frt bill. I have now been trying for some time to get the balance of the parts owed and or my money back. Can not get either. Has anyone out there tangled with these folks before? Is this normal or is he just screwing me since I am so far away? Is his Company in bankruptcy protection? I am hesitant to go the attorney route but not sure if there is a point. I race an old Cuda and also a Challenger and farm with a 520 hp Cummins 2500 truck. I am pure Mopar but as there were no Mopar clubs in the area I thought I would reach out to the rodder community and see if anybody had any advice for dealing with this guy at Show cars. I have been way past patient with him, literally waiting for months on the parts or the cash back. He apologized when he screwed me on the frt for the nose clip explaining he was short of cash. I have great memories of playing hockey in Ontario and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Shame on me. I still play and would love to invite him out on the ice! Mopar or no car.
We manufacture and warehouse bodyparts...........new, used, repro, and nos! Bumper to bumper, frame-up!!......parts, bodies, trim, interiors, carpets, etc! ROD,RACE,RESTORATION....Whatever you need,we have it orcan get it!
Any make or model, 1908 to Date.................Please call today (905) 857-6345
My thanks to all, it is as I feared. Thanks for responding to me as clearly I am a long way from Ontario. Any of you guys make it this far east and I will show you around and tip a pint or two. Better yet bring your gear and we will play some hockey. I Captain a local beer league team and we could always use a ringer! Great to see rodding old iron is still alive and strong no matter where we all may be. A gear head is a gear head!

My own experienece with showcars was several years ago but since someone asked me about a 70 ram air fiberglass hood they saw for sale at a east coast meet summer of 2013, thought I would comment. I have what is probably the ONLY NOS SC/360 AMC Hornet ram air scoop left in existence, only 784 total production of the cars, and less than 1/2 had ram air. I thought this might be a good supplier/vendor to try and sent Rob my NOS scoop, along with a sizable deposit to reproduce some scoops for me as this rare scoop had never been done before.
Rob told me they would make a mold and quickly send back my NOS scoop. In meantime my 71 SC/360 was committed to a number of shows, preregistered. Each time I actually got ahold of him was a new excuse, from 'we are short on help' to 'there was a problem with top mold' to 'guy quit on us' or 'we are backed up' after losing all my prereg money I was supposed to be at, and could not show my car with no scoop and tired of the bullsh*t, I called him and said I was going to file theft charges again him in Harris County, Houston, Texas for the amount of scoop and money sent. We are the death capital of the world here so that got his attention. There would be a open warrant for his arrest in US if he stepped foot out of Canada into US.
It had been EIGHT MONTHS of bullsh*t and while I am a patient man, that was crap. He called me back same day with tracking number and told me the scoops on way. It was the worst AMC experienece with any vendor or supplier I have ever had in 30 years in business. I have never sent any other AMC person his way knowing they would experienece the same 'send me the money, then wait for eternity' issue. I didn't have issue I may add with the scoop itself, just I do not like being lied to repeatedly and is the only time in my 30 years of AMC business I have EVER had a problem like this with my many suppliers. So I won't, and don't use them anymore. I told the fellow who emailed me about a 70 ram air hood in fiberglass he said he saw at a summer's meet to simply google "showcars body parts complaints" and watch it light up like pinball machine. It ain't only me, a whole lot of people out there have had a most unpleasant experienece with this place thru years. Eddie Stakes Planet Houston AMX www.planethoustonamx.com

My buddy dropped in on them on the way to Sterling this spring and they had quite a display at Sterling. It seems they are making an appearance of going strong, outwardly anyway. I was thinking of having them fab a hood scoop for the 57 but will not now.
The cheque in his name is more then likely the government or someone seized his bank account. With the new privacy laws its almost impossible to find a personal account without you telling them were it is. Still a good sign somethings not right
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Their ad reads the same as a 'glass company I knew of years ago promising everything under the sun and not delivering.
Never a good sign when the owner says he's short on cash. The "faith in Christ auto club" is a nice touch...hypocrite.
funny , but yrs ago , like 20 , O bought a glass fender off him . it was mint , but I went an picked it up an paid cash for it , on the spot .. But haver heard alotta bad story,s over the yrs ..77.

I stopped in and saw Rob in Foxboro The other day. He seems like most other Fiberglass guys I have met. They all seem to be Great fiberglass guys who are better at glass than business. I walked around his storage yard and was blown away on the number of parts and molds he has. There are racks and racks of parts and molds stored outside. I asked if he has everything cataloged but he said no. I don't know how he can know what he has or find anything. There were several treucks parked there with faded paint and peeling Showcars Lettering. They look like they havent moved in a while. The building he uses in Foxboro is more for storage as I understand it and he is doing his production in Toronto. Rob told me the municipality was after him in Foxboro and so he had to stop producing there. He also had a hard time keeping labor in Foxboro. He lives in Toronto and spends a few days a week in Foxboro. Kind of a funny setup but i guess his Rent is cheap as it would cost a fortune to rent room to store all those molds and parts he has in Foxboro.
Yup, typical Fibreglass guy story, had one around my home town that built probably the best bodies available, taught me
plenty about the trade when I worked @ Prototype Research and development. Enough in fact to make me run from the
actual thought that Fibreglass would ever be anything I'd ever want to do..... Good luck ironing this out John!
Chris.

Did this outfit work out of Bolton north of Toronto years ago? The ads and site look pretty well identical. The manner in the way they operate is pretty similar.

he is doing some fiber glassing over there. he is only about a mile and a 1/2 from me. the guy in the building beside him is Nye Boats and i know him fairly well. he lives or stays in his **** hole shop when he is around. i'd guess he has been sniffing the epoxy way too long.
Rob Johnston and Roy Johnston(Rob's dad) used to run "The GLASSWORKS" in Bolton, My dad and I used to bring nice rustfree sheet metal and rustfree bodies to them....After 6 trips to Canada from Atlanta, Georgia, We called it "quits" because we weren't making very good money for the trouble of finding and carrying the parts to The Glassworks. I personally haven't had any problems with Rob or Roy Johnston, But, I did get the feeling that Rob was a little "Shadey". But that's my impression ..... I hope everything works out for all the people who were "Taken". Good Luck!!!
I met this guy at a Toronto car show probably 14 years ago. Seemed like a good guy. I needed a rear bumper cover for my Trans Am and he said he has a few of them. I ordered one but it never came. It took me 6 months before I got my money back.
That guy has been running that same scam for years..he used to show up at a lot of the swap meets including Barry years ago..I have only dealt with him once about 20 years ago..I am a quick learner with those guys..he has ripped off a lot of people over the years ..You will be lucky to ever see your money again..Sorry about your luck. That guy usually seems to reel in the same people always, the ones looking for hard to find repop stuff and he just seems to be the answer he is a liar, will tell you anything you want to hear so he can get your money in his pocket..He is a disgrace to this hobby..wonder sombody hasn't punched himout or maybe they have..I don't play any hockey and for the most part I hate the friggen winters ..Nothing good about winter if into old cars and more whiskey, older women and summer sunshine... you can have the Hockey.. I think basket ball and soccer are getting more popular than Hockey ..Hockey has a huge price tag attached to any more for ice time and equipment..I know most of my grand pups are much more into soccer and basket ball...
As I said before Rob will get payback from the wrong person.I have had dealings with this person and got royally fornicated.I will be in the area of his residence soon.I hope I can control myself.

I saw Rob at the Tuesday Cruise Night in Belleville. He was going car to car handing out a flyer. I didn't see what it was about but Since his car was plastered with anti Liberal, Anti Wind energy labels I suspect that is what it was. I have talked to him on the subject and he is deep into anti Government and thinks Wind and Solar energy is a scam and not worth the power it costs.
He is interesting but definitely a little strange. I cant say I know he is ripping people off but I would be very leery dealing with him after what I have seen and learned.
The only way I will deal with Rob at showcars is if he has the part I want in stock - you hand me the part, I will hand you the cash. There is no other way to deal with him. I personally know of several people he attempted to rip off.
I worked in a G.M. dealership in Burlington back in the late 70's and Rob had a Speed Shop in town. Of course we sold him parts that he never paid for and when we took it to small claims court he was ordered to pay but never did. At the time we could only spend so much time chasing deadbeats so the dealership wrote it off and I have heard many claims of people sending cash to him and not receiving their part or cash. Unbelievable how a guy can run a shady business for almost 40 years (under different names) and still be in business.............
Getting back in to this subject, he had the nerve to set up at the Stirling Flea market with a bunch of his subgrade
fibreglass junk this May, never had a very large crowd on his spots that I could see all weekend though?
