It's a 40 Dodge coupe though. Grey primer, small block Chevy - we've all probably seen a few of them. If you want detail you'd be better off going to see the car.

No. The problem is it is a 40 Dodge set up for Chev. Chev guys don't want it and Dodge guys including this one are mad. I think I will find a Covette somewhere to put a 440 mopar in. Still the price is not bad. Might be still reversible.

I really like those Dodge coupes. A friend of mine built two. Another friend once said 'going more fast on less gold' and that is what generally happens with these cars. My buddy puts 440s in his but if you happen to have a sbc sitting around in your garage and who doesn't except you and me, and you can always buy a 40 Dodge for little or nothing because everyone wants a 40 Ford (I don't know why), then you build a low buck car that you sell for $2000 or less. I agree, I think it is sacrilegious but some march to a different drummer and sometimes that is a good thing, i.e. slant six or aluminum Rover engines. Have a good day, really enjoying your posts.

Confusing post.
I think you are saying it is sacrilegious to swap a SBC into a '40 Dodge (you seem to suggest the end result would be an undesirable car worth nothing more than $2000) but that it's perfectly fine and acceptable to "march to a different drummer" and swap in an aluminum Rover engine like you have done with your Model A. Swapping amongst manufacturers is ok as long as you "march to a different drummer" and don't install a cheap, readily available and generally very reliable SBC?
I really hate getting comments from people who have no identity unless you are a cartoon. But, that aside, I was just yanking Don's chain. He is my neighbour and we have fun because we know each other's name.
c,mon now children, individuallity is the name ove the game, that,s what makes us what we are. it would be a booooooooring world if we all liked the same thing,s. one man,s nectar, is another man,s poison. as long as it gets saved from the great scrap yard in the sky is all it maters. "let,s face it " chev,s are still the cheapest engine,s to build. but it wouldbe waycoooooooooooooooler if it got a stroked mopar in there.
Friend of ours is just finishing up a Dodge into a Dodge Dakota, was 440 now 496, 4000 stall and 5:17 rear. A mint one owner truck the kid bought new when he was 18.

No. It's not a problem because it sold. Someone loved it! What is with people on this website? Everyone seems to have an attitude. I posted pics originally and after a while I took them down. Big fricken deal! I figure if you're not interested why open your yap?

For Sale ads are placed by people to sell things. They are NOT there for you all to make remarks on. I dont care if the item is way over priced or a bunch of crap, keep your mouths shut. If it doesnt sell they will realize why.
The next remark I see on an ad, the person will be banned for a week
If you want to ask about something in an ad, PM the seller
If it is a wanted ad, and you have what the person is looking for, replying is fine...discuss the prices in PMs
