I'm looking for a carburetor for my 350 that will have all the emissions equipment for 1980. I've come across a Holley 4166-1 carb dated 0989. All the info I can find is that its a 4160 600cfm vac secondary off a Chrysler. Here a a couple pics.
My question would be is this a decent choice to run on a 350 with a 214 224 cam holley dominator intake w egr. Thanks for your replies.
First problem I see is the mechanical bowl vent, if you want to be legal it must be a sealed bowl with a vent tube for the carbon canister to connect to.

I guess that's the orange valve connected to the linkage? What would your suggestion be on a carburetor?(rochester, holley, edelbrock) The only carb's I have ever run is an edelbrock 1406 and 1411 on my other truck and was never happy with them, leaning more towards a holley or rochester.
if youre looking to be legal the easiest (and least eyebrow raising of the moe guys) would be to run a quadrajet. they are great carbs once you get to know all the adjustments they have. the later quadrajets will have all the emissions hose ports too. they are easy to rebuild as long as the throttle shafts arent worn. a carb shop can fix that issue easily tho.
I think that's the option that I'm going with. Any thoughts on any quadrajet in particular? I've seen quite a few around, what years/model #'s would be considered the later ones?
