IMG_5413.JPGIMG_5416.JPGIMG_5419.JPGIMG_5414.JPGIMG_5417.JPGIMG_5418.JPGStarted taking my Toyota 4 runner rear end apart to clean it up.

these rear ends are only 55 inches wide hub to hub

have an 8 inch ring gear ,posi, 4.30 gear

The axles are pretty rugged as well 31 spline and a large bearing

axle is way heavier than a 31 spline 9 inch axle

12 inch drum brakes to boot . 4 bar trailing link set up as well

cheap to buy .paid under 200 bucks each for the 2  I have.

Are you redrilling the axle flange to accomodate GM/Ford rims?Doesn't look like you'll have room to do that !!

fellow up here put a "HI LUX" toyota rear end under a 41 Chevy P/up. Works great as org. had 'stump puller" gears. Truck is restored but now for sale as owner passed away.

That is a 4X4 rear diff. I have 2WD diff in mine and the bolt pattern is 5 X 4.5", same as Ford or Dodge.

Nice to know Mike , I wasn't sure what the 5 bolt rear ends were

What is the width on the 2 wheel drive rear ends?

I find it odd that Toyota would use a 5.5" and a 4.5" Bolt circle seeing as Toyotas are all metric.

Sorry Hemi, I tried to speak so everyone on the forum could understand.
Toyota 2WD rear ends have a 5 on 114.3 mm bolt pattern. This is very, very, very close to Ford and Dodge.biggrinbiggrin
