What evaporator units are you using in your hot rods  for cooling and heating . Looking for something to fit up under the dash . Have looked at using a   unit from the rear of a suburban and possible mount under the rear package tray .  thanks Bryan

Look at vintage air stuff. Lots of their stuff is made to suit whatever vehicle your building.

I like the vintage air heat and cool with defrost the only problem with any aftermarket ones is they need to draw the air from outside to cut down on the humidity but they don't they just circulate the cabin air and makes for very moist windows if you use the heat while driving in the rain. One from a rear of a van would be good but it might not fit well. What car are you building? How much room under the dash? I put an vintage air only in the back window tray of a 51 plymouth stretch limo just to cool the patrons for a photo guy I know and it worked well.

I also use vintage air. It has worked flawlessly in the 7 years that I've owned it.Definitely a lifesaver on those rainy days.

Vintage air makes a couple of trunk mount units.

I've used Old Air Products in a couple of my cars before, smallest evaporator on the market( about the same size as your original heater), cools the car fine on the hotest day.

Used the rear air from my 1996 safari van. Small but could cool the whole van. Put it in a 53 pick up. Worked very well. Using the vintage air for my buick. Vintage air was a cleaner fit but for the money differance I will use a van unit next time.
