For all you drag racing enthusiastsGordie Bonin passed away yesterday. Gordie was nicknamed '240 Gordie' because he consistantly ran 240 m.p.h. [or over] in his nito funny car before anyone else. He won many National events,drove in top Fuel and Nitro Funny car {The Bubble Up_Firebird] and was a true Canadian Drag Racing hero[Red Deer Alberta].Google Gordie for the complete story of his career. R.I.P.

R.I.P saw Gordie a few times in 75',76' & 77 when I lived in Edmonton. Good memories.

Sad news for sure.
The older we get, the more of us drop off the end. Bonin was a talented ,competive guy, he was at it a long time.

I never recognized the name until 240 gordie was mentioned and I watched him many times in edmonton,he was a great guy.
